Newbuildings beat St Johnston by 7 wickets.
Foyleview Arena, 18 May.
St Johnston 113-9 (20 overs; Mark Pollock 42, David Lapsley 28; Ross Hunter 3023, Peat Salmon 2-9, Jared Wilson 2-11)

Father and son, Gareth and Blake McKeegan (Jared Wilson)
Newbuildings cruised to a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over St Johnston in their North West T20 clash, romping home with more than nine overs to spare. St Johnston never recovered from a sluggish middle order collapse after opener Mark Pollock produced a fluent 42 from 34 balls, striking four fours and three sixes. David Lapsley’s 28 was the only other meaningful contribution as the innings closed on 113 for 9. The Newbuildings attack shared the wickets around impressively. Skipper Ross Hunter led the way with 3 for 23, while Jamaican professional Peat Salmon and Jared Wilson both picked up two wickets apiece. The chase was virtually settled inside the powerplay as Mark Hanna blasted 51 from only 26 balls, hammering nine fours and two sixes. He shared an opening stand of 75 with Jason Dunn, whose brisk 20 included two maximums. Pollock claimed three late wickets, but Wilson quickly finished matters in style, launching three sixes in an unbeaten 27.
NWCU Premiership T20, Group A
Bready beat Donemana by 4 wickets.
Magheramason, 18 May.
Donemana 139-6 (20 overs; Ray Curry 42, Levi Dougherty 28, Awais Zafar 27; Charlie Downey 3-21)
Bready 140-6 (17.5 overs; Josh van Heerden 52, Charlie Downey 40)
Bready inflicted more pain on Donemana with a four-wicket victory in their Tyrone derby clash. Donemana posted 139 for 6 from their 20 overs, but never fully managed to break free against a disciplined Bready attack. Awais Zafar gave the innings early momentum with 27 before Ray Curry top-scored with 42 from 39 balls, striking five boundaries. Curry and Levi Dougherty, who made 28, shared a stand of 66 to steady the innings, although regular wickets prevented the home side from building a truly imposing total. Charlie Downey was the standout bowler, showing excellent form since switching from Newbuildings with impressive figures of 3 for 21. Bready’s chase wobbled at 56 for 4, leaving the game finely poised, but Josh van Heerden swung the momentum decisively with a blistering 52 from just 29 balls that included four fours and three sixes. Downey then completed an outstanding all-round display, making 40 from 33 deliveries with two fours and two sixes to move Bready to the brink of victory before Adam Warnock and Nathan McCombe calmly finished the job with more than two overs remaining.
NWCU Premiership T20, Group A

Ballymagorry, 18 May.
Fox Lodge 164-8 (20 overs; Dean McCarter 66*, Ali Doherty 39; Matty Smyth 3-19, Jacob Logan-Wilson 2-23)
Coleraine 165-5 (18.5 overs; Louren Steenkamp 51, David Cooke 35*, Matthew Hutchinson 22*, Varun Chopra 22; Swarnim Jha 2-29)
Coleraine chased superbly to claim a five-wicket victory over Fox Lodge in an entertaining clash. Fox Lodge posted a competitive 164 for 8 thanks largely to an excellent opening stand of 69 between Ali Doherty and Dean McCarter. Doherty raced to a boundary-filled 39 from just 27 balls, striking seven fours and a six, while McCarter anchored the innings superbly with an unbeaten 66 from 47 deliveries that included four fours and three maximums. Coleraine’s bowlers fought back well after the aggressive start, with Matty Smyth impressing again as he claimed 3 for 19 using his variations cleverly. New signing Jacob Logan-Wilson also continued his encouraging start since arriving from The Nedd, taking 2 for 23. The visitors kept pace with the asking rate throughout their reply. Louren Steenkamp blasted 51 from 33 balls and shared an opening stand of 56 with Patrick Carson before both fell to Swarnim Jha. Varun Chopra added 22, but the game still hung in the balance with 38 required from 23 balls. David Cooke then struck an unbeaten 35 from 20 balls, while Matthew Hutchinson’s explosive 22 from 11 deliveries guided Coleraine home with seven balls remaining - the pair clearing the ropes five times in the closing stages.

Beechgrove, 18 May.
Strabane 118-7 (20 overs; Ryan Gallagher 33, Mark McNulty 20*; Jamie Millar 3-22, David Barr 2-22)
Brigade 41-0 (5 overs; Gavin Roulston 21*, Scott Macbeth 20*)

Ryan Gallagher top-scored with a run-a-ball 33 that included five boundaries, while Mark McNulty provided late resistance with an unbeaten 20. Brigade’s bowlers kept a tight grip throughout, with Jamie Millar particularly impressive as he cleverly mixed slower balls and cutters to claim 3 for 22. Killyclooney v Glendermott. Match abandoned.
Killyclooney, 18 May.
Killyclooney 68-5 (10 overs; Keenan Viera 24, Alan Nicholl 20; JJ O'Brien 3-11, Lewis Pearson 2-28)
Glendermott
There was no repeat of the previous day’s drama as rain brought the North West Championship T20 clash between Killyclooney and Glendermott to a premature end after just 10 overs at Killyclooney. Meeting again less than 24 hours after Killyclooney’s Championship victory, the home side made a lively start and reached 68 for 5 before the weather closed in. Opener Alan Nicholl and overseas professional Keenan Viera looked in excellent touch as they guided Killyclooney to 63 for 2, taking advantage of the shortened format with positive strokeplay. Nicholl struck 20 at the top of the order, while Viera led the way with an entertaining 24 from 22 balls that included two fours and two sixes. However, Glendermott hit back strongly in the latter stages of the innings. JJ O’Brien sparked a mini-collapse with impressive figures of 3 for 11, while Lewis Pearson claimed 2 for 28 as wickets tumbled in a late flurry before the rain arrived to end proceedings early, with neither side getting any points from the wash-out.

Eglinton 154-2 (13.3 overs; A Millar 75, Dunith Jayathunga 67*; Raghuveer Velagapudi 2-33)
Less than 24 hours after their previous encounter, Eglinton again proved too strong for Letterkenny with a blistering eight-wicket win. Varun Tiwari steadied the innings with a run-a-ball 34 before sharing a third-wicket stand of 73 with Muhammad Khalid, who top-scored with an unbeaten 53 from 33 balls, including six fours and a six. Ateeq ur Rehman then provided late fireworks, smashing three sixes in an unbeaten 23 from only 11 deliveries. Millar blasted 75 from 44 balls, while Jayathunga hammered an unbeaten 67 from 35 deliveries as the pair shared a match-winning stand of 120 in a rapid chase completed inside 14 overs.

Strabane produced the shock result of the season as they stunned fancied Donemana by 34 runs in a dramatic DLS success that sent the Red Caps soaring to the top of the table alongside fellow Tyrone side Fox Lodge. The hosts were dismissed for just 137 in 42 overs, but the total proved more than enough on a difficult surface. Young Zimbabwean leg-spinner Luke Marrillier was the chief destroyer for Donemana, ripping through the innings with outstanding figures of 5-29. Despite regular wickets, Strabane dug in through Allen Patterson, whose resilient unbeaten 31 anchored the innings, while overseas professional Muhammad Mohsin contributed 24 valuable runs in the middle order. Awais Zafar chipped in with 2-22 to keep the pressure on the home side. Donemana would have expected to chase the modest target comfortably, but Strabane’s bowlers produced a sensational display full of discipline and intensity. The visitors never settled as wickets tumbled steadily throughout the reply. Vadivel Moorthy was the star with the ball, claiming a magnificent 5-32, while Mohsin completed a superb all-round performance by taking 4-14 to rip the heart out of the Donemana batting line-up. Only Zafar, with 23, offered meaningful resistance as Donemana were bowled out for 101 in 34.3 overs, sealing a famous Strabane victory.

Fox Lodge 122-3 (18.4 overs; Gayan Maneeshan 54, Jason Milligan 37*) (Target 120 off 38 overs.)
Swarnim Jha and Levi Kerr (Fox Lodge CC)
Fox Lodge made it two wins from two with a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Coleraine at Ballymagorry after Levi Kerr’s five-wicket haul set up the chase. Coleraine’s innings never recovered from the nightmare start of losing professional Louren Steenkamp first ball to teenager Swarnim Jha. The South African had struck an unbeaten century on Saturday, but cricket proved a great leveller as he departed for a golden duck. Experienced campaigner David Cooke battled hard for 35, while Patrick Carson added 23 and Jacob Logan-Wilson chipped in with 22, but Fox Lodge kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Kerr was the standout performer with superb figures of 5-41, while Aaron Heywood claimed 2-10 and Swarnim Jha picked up 2-30 as Coleraine were dismissed for 121 in 30.5 overs. Fox Lodge suffered a couple of early setbacks in reply with Ali Doherty and Charlie Simpson falling cheaply, but there was never any real alarm thanks to an excellent third-wicket stand of 75 between Gayan Maneeshan and Jason Milligan. Eglinton secured their second maximum-point victory of the weekend to move to the top of the table after another weather-affected win, this time against Letterkenny. The home side were in control from the outset thanks to a blistering opening partnership between skipper Andy Lucas and Andy Millar. The pair added 106 in just 80 balls to take the game away from the visitors. Lucas led from the front with a fluent 62 from 49 deliveries, striking nine fours and a six, while Millar produced another superb knock, top-scoring with 81 from 69 balls that included 11 fours and a maximum. Even after the breakthrough, Eglinton maintained the momentum as Robbie Millar added an unbeaten 35 before heavy rain eventually halted proceedings with the hosts on 192-3 after 28 overs. Credit goes to Letterkenny for braving difficult conditions that at one stage appeared likely to end the match altogether. Revised calculations left them chasing a daunting DLS target of 234 from their 28 overs. While that was always beyond reach, the visitors showed good determination to bat out their overs and close on 145-7. Jack Martin taking four wickets with Eglinton comfortably sealing another valuable victory that puts them in prime position for an immediate return to the top flight.

Graham Kennedy (Ballyspallen CC)
Ballyspallen claimed a hard-fought 23-run victory over Glendermott after defending a revised DLS target in a rain-affected encounter. The home side posted 191-9 from their 45 overs, built around a vital third-wicket partnership of 63 between Hassan Shahid and Raveen Yasas. Shahid top-scored with 43, while Yasas struck 42 in an innings that also featured useful contributions from Pushpender Singh and Curtis McElwee. Glendermott’s attack was led superbly by Lewis Pearson, who claimed 4-31, while Alex Boyd picked up two wickets. Set a revised target of 171 from 34 overs, Glendermott made an encouraging start through Ben Mills and Craig Averill. Mills hammered 36 from 35 balls with six fours and a six, while Averill added 29 as the visitors looked well placed. However, left-arm spinner Graham Kennedy turned the contest with a miserly spell of 3-13 from seven overs, including the prize scalp of Blayde Cappell, strangling the middle order along with his brother Stephen (7-1-11-1) and slowing the scoring rate dramatically. Jake Montgomery battled for 34 from 67 deliveries, but Ballyspallen closed out victory comfortably in the closing overs.

Mary Bradley presents the Shaun Bradley Memorial Plate, competed annually by Eglinton and Ardmore. (CricketEurope)
Frequent showers may have interrupted proceedings, but there was no stopping Eglinton as they stormed to a nine-wicket DLS victory over Ardmore chasing a revised target of 111 in 22 overs. Ardmore were indebted to Sri Lankan overseas professional Kasun Aberaytne, who carried the batting almost single-handedly with a superb unbeaten 74 from 74 balls, striking 11 fours and a six. Wickets tumbled regularly around him with little resistance from the top order, as a string of single-figure scores left the innings in danger of collapse. Valuable late contributions of 13 apiece from Vivek Dwivedi and Mark Chambers at least pushed the total towards respectability in the rain-hit contest. Eglinton’s bowlers kept a firm grip throughout, with left-armer Kyle Moore claiming four wickets in an impressive spell, while leg-spinner Robbie Millar chipped in with two more. Any hopes of a dramatic defence quickly disappeared as Eglinton’s openers made light work of the chase. The only real threat came from the dark clouds overhead as skipper Andy Lucas blasted an unbeaten 68 from 49 deliveries, including seven fours and three sixes. Alongside Andy Millar’s fluent 28, the pair shared an unbroken opening stand of 104 to seal a comfortable maximum-points win.

The four Glendermott players who scored half centuries (CricketEurope)
Glendermott began their centenary celebrations in style with an emphatic 301-run win over Letterkenny at the Rectory. With hindsight it perhaps wasn't the brightest love to insert the hosts after winning the toss. Ben Mills raced out of the traps with a 44-ball 58 (9 fours, 2 sixes), as he and Craig Averill added 98 for the opening wicket. The real fun began when Blayde Capell came to the middle, with the South African run machine launching the ball to all parts of the Waterside environs, clubbing 7 sixes and 7 fours in a 49 ball 89 as he and Averill added 133 for the second wicket. Averill look destined for a century on his return to Glendermott as and Jake Montgomery added 66. However he fell for 86 (8 fours, 3 sixes). Skipper Trevor Britton kept the rate going with a hard-hit unbeaten 51 from just 36 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes) as he added 70 with Alan Johnson (25) in a daunting total of 385 for 7. There were three wickets apiece for Rammohan Goud Sama and Muhammad Khalid. The chase never got going and the Donegal side were whittled out for just 84. The wickets were shared with JJ O'Brien taking three and two apiece for Adam Boyd, Lewis Pearson and Britton. On this showing, Glendermott's 100th could be one of their most memorable and successful. They will certainly take some stopping.
