Cricket Leinster completed a perfect Saturday in the U19 Women’s Interpro T20 series as they followed their morning win with a convincing six-wicket victory over the NCU at Campbell College. The NCU posted 129 for 6 from their 20 overs, with Lucy Andrews finishing unbeaten on 26 and Josceyln Wright adding 22 not out. A Hayden claimed 2 for 25, while Sinead Thomson picked up 2 for 32 to keep the target within reach. Leinster’s reply was built around a decisive second-wicket stand of 96 between Izzy McClean and Genevieve Morrissey. McClean continued her excellent form, striking 56 from 37 balls with four fours and three sixes, while Morrissey made a fluent 36, including four boundaries. Although Nina Moore took 2 for 19, Leinster were always in control, reaching 132 for 4 in just 16 overs to move top of the table.

Leinster Women's U19s recorded a convincing 46-run win over the North West at Campbell College. The platform was laid by a superb opening stand of 108 in 14 overs between Izzy McClean and skipper Aisling Lawlor. McClean was the dominant force, striking 76 from 53 balls with eight fours and three sixes, while Lawlor added a composed 37 that included four boundaries. Although the North West fought back through Millie Spence’s 3 for 19 and Tiara Mitchell’s 2 for 21, a late burst from Gemma Sargent, who clubbed three sixes in a six-ball 18, lifted Leinster to 160 for 8. The North West reply never really threatened the target. Jessica Cooke made 24, Leah Thompson 19, Mitchell an unbeaten 17 and Sophie Hamilton 15 not out as they closed on 114 for 7.

Rob O’Brien and Johan George were Leinster’s heroes as they snatched a thrilling one-wicket win over the North West Under-19s with just two balls to spare. Chasing 222, Leinster were 190 for nine when last man George joined captain O’Brien, with 37 still needed. O’Brien held the innings together with an unbeaten 79, while George struck a crucial 20 not out to complete a dramatic rescue act. Earlier, James Smallwoods made 48 and Luke Marillier 55 in a 92-run stand, before Sam Haslett added 43 in North West’s 221 for eight. Marillier also took three for 30.

North West's winning start to the interprovincial series ended with a heavy nine-wicket defeat to the NCU at Downpatrick. Less than 24 hours after beating Leinster, the visitors were dismissed for just 55 in 15 overs as Matilda McCartney starred with 4-15, while Ella Naylor (2-3) and Olivia Morrow (2-17) kept the pressure on throughout. Chasing only 56, Lucie Harper struck a fluent 27, including five boundaries, in an opening stand of 53 with the unbeaten Eva Cupitt (17*). Abbey-Gale McGarrigle claimed the only wicket before Katie West sealed victory with plenty of overs to spare.

North West Girls opened their interprovincial campaign with a convincing 36-run win over Leinster at Bready. After losing Ella Wasson early, Jodie Spence and Emily Young transformed the innings with a superb second-wicket partnership of 128. Spence top-scored with 67, while Young made 59 as the hosts posted 178-7 from their 30 overs. Leinster's reply was derailed by three run-outs and wickets for Spence, Anna McGurk and Abbey-Gale McGarrigle, leaving them struggling at 61-6. Sana George (50*) and Annabel Walsh (37*) shared an unbroken stand of 81, but North West always remained in control to secure an impressive opening victory.
