Ballyspallen were forced to concede their clash with Eglinton in bizarre circumstances after printer problems meant they were unable to produce the required DLS sheet following a rain interruption.

Earlier, Eglinton had been dismissed for 159 in 48.1 overs after finding runs difficult to come by against a disciplined Ballyspallen attack.

Sam Adair top-scored with 28, while Ian Young made 26 and Dunith Jayathunga 22. Graham Kennedy was particularly miserly, taking two for 13 from 10 overs, while Stephen Kennedy and Raveen Yasas also claimed two wickets apiece. Skipper Stuart Kennedy finished with three for 39.

Ballyspallen then made a flying start to their reply, reaching 19 without loss after two overs. Hassan Shahid struck four boundaries in an unbeaten 16 from just 11 balls, with Pushpender Singh on one.

However, the weather intervened and the contest descended into an unusual administrative problem.

With a revised DLS calculation required, Ballyspallen were unable to produce the necessary sheet because of printer difficulties and subsequently conceded the match.

It was a hugely frustrating way for the game to be decided, particularly after Ballyspallen had bowled well to restrict Eglinton and then made such a positive start to the chase.
