Bangor continued their perfect start to the Section One campaign with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Derriaghy in a rain-reduced 28-over contest at Upritchard Park on Saturday. After a delayed start, Derriaghy posted 150-7 from their allotted overs. Half-century partnerships provided the backbone of the innings, with Ross Bailey (26) and Matt Scoble (27) adding useful runs for the second wicket before Jonathan Bell top-scored with 34 as he and Craig Lewis (26) then shared another important stand for the fourth wicket. Chris Pyper (2-23) and Brodie Harrison (2-29) were Bangor’s most successful bowlers. Bangor’s chase was built on a solid platform from Sam McMillan, whose 29 included three boundaries. The hosts then took complete control through an unbroken third-wicket partnership of 94 between Harrison and Mark Hutchinson. Harrison continued his remarkable form - 423 runs at 105.60 - with a blistering 64 not out from just 34 balls, striking three fours and five sixes, while Hutchinson finished unbeaten on 41 as Bangor reached 151-2 in 22.5 overs to make it four wins from four and sit proudly at the top of Section One.

Johnston blasted an unbeaten 56 from just 26 balls, striking six fours and three sixes in a commanding display of power-hitting. Bangor's run scorers tonight
Bangor's quest to defend their T20 Trophy title started successfully as they chased down Cregagh's 210 to win by 9 wickets. Cregagh's new signing Peter Davison showed his all-round capability as he top-scored with 84 from 54 balls (6 fours, 5 sixes) as he added 73 for the third wicket with Aaron Johnston (30). Adam Beattie joined in the fun as he cleared the ropes three times in a 12-ball 34 as the hosts posted 201 for 6 - two wickets apiece for George Prince and Chris Pyper. Bangor openers Sam McMillan and Seb Yeates attacked the chase with relish, as the young pair put on 164 in 15 overs to break the back of the target. McMillan, who scored a century at the weekend - was the more aggressive as he hit 70 from 38 balls (7 fours, 2 sixes). Davison broke the stand but any thoughts of a late rally were soon dispelled by Yeates and Brodie Harrison who knocked off the 47 required with 9 balls to spare. Yeates ended top scorer with an unbeaten 73 (7 fours, 2 sixes), while Harrison's 12-ball 35 not out (4 fours, 2 sixes) ensured an ultimately stress-free nine-wicket victory.

Derriaghy 189-3 (20 overs; M Scoble 79*, C Lewis 72; A Kennedy 2-26)

The pair's heroics propelled the Queensway side to 189 for 3 - two wickets for Aaron Kennedy. The hosts made a brave fist of the chase thanks primarily to Lachy Aitken's 71 (11 fours, 1 six), but they eventually fell 24-runs adrift, with Mark Coburn and David Scott each taking two wickets.
