Avadhoot Dandekar produced a fine all-round performance as Donacloney Mill completed a five-wicket victory over Saintfield.

Saintfield were dismissed for 167 in 48.1 overs after struggling to build sustained partnerships against a disciplined Donacloney attack.

Will McNeilly top-scored with 31 from 61 balls, while Ross Boultwood also made 31, adding two sixes in his 42-ball stay.

Werner Brand contributed 18 at the top of the order, but wickets fell steadily after Saintfield had reached 74 for two.

Dandekar was the pick of the bowlers with three for 19 from 9.1 overs, while Alex Ogle returned an excellent two for 16 from his 10 overs. Aaron Kennedy and Thomas Stevenson also claimed two wickets apiece.

Donacloney lost Shane Warren early in reply, but Dandekar and Ryan Matthews quickly put the chase back on track.

Matthews struck a brisk 50 from 39 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes, before falling with the score on 90.

Dandekar then took responsibility for guiding the innings, making 68 from 74 deliveries with 11 fours and a six.

Although Saintfield picked up three more wickets, Donacloney remained comfortably ahead of the required rate. Darren Vennard finished unbeaten on 25, with two sixes, while Mark Hanna was not out on four.

Donacloney reached their target in just 28.2 overs to seal victory with more than 21 overs to spare.

Ethan Hanna was Saintfield’s most successful bowler with two for 50, but Dandekar’s contribution with both bat and ball proved decisive.
