Armagh consolidated fourth place with a four-wicket victory over Derriaghy after successfully chasing 224 with seven balls to spare.

Derriaghy posted a competitive 223 for three from their 40 overs, built around half-centuries from Ross Bailey and Craig Lewis.

Bailey made 61 before being trapped lbw by Matthew Wilson, while Lewis provided the late acceleration with an unbeaten 61, including five sixes. Matt Scoble was also unbeaten on 48, having added valuable runs during the closing stages.

Ben Mackey was the pick of the Armagh attack, claiming two for 31 from his eight overs, while Wilson took the other wicket.

Armagh’s reply began badly when Ryan Hetherington was dismissed without scoring and Michael Villiers followed for nine, both falling to Ross Glover.

However, Jamie Rogers steadied the chase with an excellent 87, sharing useful partnerships through the middle overs to keep Armagh up with the required rate.

Luan Liebenberg contributed 25 before being run out, while Matthew Steenson’s 52 proved another crucial innings as the visitors closed in on their target.

Ben Mackey then added 32 to ensure there would be no late collapse, although both he and Rogers fell to Matt Scoble.

Jack Beggs and Gareth McCarter finished the job, as Armagh won in the penultimate over.

Glover finished with three wickets for Derriaghy and Scoble claimed two, but Armagh had done enough to secure the points and maintain their position in fourth place.
