Bangor kept their promotion — and indeed title — hopes very much alive with a crushing eight-wicket victory over Cregagh.
The visitors produced a dominant bowling display to dismiss Cregagh for just 112 in 33.3 overs before racing to their target in only 11 overs.
Michael Skelly set the tone, taking three for 17 as Cregagh slumped to seven for three, with Bob Moore, Jamie Read and Owen McMillan all falling cheaply.
Ben Browne attempted to steady the innings with 24, while Alastair Watt top-scored with 41 from 64 balls, but Bangor continued to strike at regular intervals.
Chris Pyper finished with three for 24 and Angus Farrell also claimed three wickets as Cregagh were bowled out well inside their allocation.
Bangor then made light work of the chase despite losing Sam McMillan for five.
Brodie Harrison tore into the home attack with a blistering 81 from just 26 balls, smashing nine fours and six sixes in a spectacular assault that effectively ended the contest. He added 75 for the second wicket with Seb Yeates before falling with only 19 runs required.
Yeates remained unbeaten on 17, while Andrew Kirkpatrick finished not out on nine as Bangor coasted home. The victory leaves Bangor firmly in the promotion race heading into their final match away to Saintfield in midweek.
A win there would guarantee them a place in the top flight, regardless of the outcome of the head-to-head battle between fellow challengers Lurgan and Carrickfergus. With the title also still within reach, Bangor’s destiny remains firmly in their own hands.
