Bonds Glen completed a superb Championship campaign by leapfrogging Glendermott on the final day to secure the title and promotion to the North West Premiership.

The Bee Gees knew the equation was in their own hands and, in truth, the outcome was rarely in doubt after they piled up an imposing 308 against Killyclooney before bowling the visitors out for just 133 to complete a thumping 175-run victory.

Heinrich Roberts was the star of the show, producing a magnificent 125 from only 81 balls. His innings contained 10 fours and nine sixes and gave Bonds Glen complete control after they had slipped to 80 for four.

Roberts shared useful partnerships with Adam Thompson, who made 20, and Sam Kincaid, who added 17, before Mark Robinson kept the momentum going with an unbeaten 36.

Giles Moan was Killyclooney’s most successful bowler with four for 76, but a target of 309 was always going to be a huge ask.

That became even clearer when Killyclooney lost wickets steadily throughout their reply. Dharm Singh was outstanding with the ball for the champions, returning superb figures of five for 33 from his 10 overs.

Sam Kincaid claimed two wickets, while Jack Morrow wrapped up the innings with two in three deliveries. Jason Wallace provided some late resistance with an unbeaten 47, but Killyclooney were dismissed before halfway.

The emphatic win lifted Bonds Glen above Glendermott and confirmed them as Championship winners and a top-flight side for next season.

There could yet be further celebration for the club this weekend, with Bonds Glen Seconds holding the upper hand in their League Four Cup final against Erne. The Fermanagh side will need 252 to win when the contest resumes on Sunday.

For Glendermott, consolation comes in the form of a Premiership play-off against Coleraine in the coming weeks, with the final top-flight place at stake.
