Donemana kept the North West Premiership title race alive for at least another week with a six-wicket victory over leaders Newbuildings at The Holm. 

The visitors were bowled out for 161 after struggling for momentum throughout the innings. Peat Salmon provided the one major contribution, striking a run-a-ball 55 with two fours and six sixes, but support was limited. 

Azim Kazi claimed three wickets, while Melvin Devaraj, Levi Dougherty and Luke Marillier took two apiece to keep Newbuildings in check. 

Donemana then made a flying start to the chase, with Jamie Huey and Marillier putting on 92 for the first wicket in just 12.5 overs. Huey struck five fours and three sixes in his 42 from 38 balls, while Marillier dominated with 62 from 58 deliveries, including eight sixes. 

Newbuildings briefly fought back through Salmon, who took two for 27, but the damage had already been done. 

Azim Kazi finished unbeaten on 13 and Andy McBrine one not out as Donemana eased home, sealing a convincing win that ensures the title race remains alive.

There will be no need to panic for Ross Hunter's side, as the title destiny is very much in their own hands - two wins of any margin against Strabane and St Johnston enough to stay ahead of Donemana, even if the home side secure maximum points from their last three games.
