Bonds Glen moved into second place with a devastating 369-run demolition of Letterkenny, a result that also confirmed the Donegal side’s relegation.

The Bee Gees produced one of the batting displays of the season, piling up a mammoth 465 for eight from their 50 overs before dismissing Letterkenny for just 96.

Heinrich Roberts led the carnage with a superb 122 from 68 balls, striking 16 fours and five sixes, while William McClintock narrowly missed a century with a blistering 91 from 52 deliveries.

Dharm Singh was equally destructive in making 89 from only 44 balls, including 13 fours and five sixes, as Bonds Glen maintained relentless pressure throughout.

Adam Thompson added 37 and Richard Thompson finished unbeaten on 35, with the innings containing an extraordinary 23 sixes.

Letterkenny’s reply never threatened to make a contest of it.

They were reduced to 19 for four inside seven overs and continued to lose wickets regularly as Bonds Glen’s attack ruthlessly exploited the scoreboard pressure.

Mark Robinson was the chief destroyer with four for 24, while Danie Rossouw claimed three for 17 and centurion Roberts completed an excellent all-round performance with two wickets.

Prateek Arora top-scored with 18 and Sohel Shaik made 16, but Letterkenny were bowled out in only 19 overs.

The emphatic maximum-points victory lifted Bonds Glen into second place and kept their promotion ambitions very much alive, while for Letterkenny the heavy defeat brought confirmation that they will drop out of the division, subject to confirmation from the NWCU.
