Waringstown faced a long wait to receive the Premier League trophy after their final match against Waringstown ended at 3.30pm, a convincing nine wickets victory over Muckamore.

James McCollum ended the season in style with a straight six towards the car park – the ball wasn’t found! – and complete an unbeaten partnership of 139 with Adam Dennison. McCollum was 69 not out with 10 fours and one other six and Dennison, who brought up his half century with a six, was 51 not out, with five fours and an earlier maximum.

In the absence of professional Steve Stolk, Tom Mayes got the chance to open but was caught at mid-on for eight, to give Neil Gill his final wicket as a 1st XI player.

The long-servant was out for one in his final innings as Muckamore were bowled out for 146 in the 39th over.

Jason van der Merwe scored exactly half the runs, hitting eight fours and a six while Mark Gleghorne, also playing his last match, was second top score with 25.

Both were dismissed by James Cameron-Dow who took the last three wickets to finish with five for 19.
