Merrion Girls powered into the All-Ireland Under-17 final with an emphatic 81-run victory over Bready and will now face hosts Holywood at Seapark later this afternoon.

The Leinster side posted an imposing 136 for two from their 20 overs, built around an excellent half-century from captain Aisling Lawlor.

Lawlor struck seven fours in her 54 from 51 deliveries and shared useful partnerships with Síbha Bhoja, who made a brisk 26 from 26 balls, and Aoife Hayden, who finished unbeaten on 31.

Mansi Bhavsar and Corinne Young claimed the two wickets for Bready, but their batters were unable to make any impression against an outstanding Merrion attack.

Jodie Spence made 15, but Bready slipped from 34 without loss to 55 all out.

Lawlor completed a superb all-round performance by ripping through the middle and lower order, taking five wickets for only five runs.

She removed Millie Spence, Mansi Bhavsar, Ella Wasson, Corinne Young and Lily Rodgers as Bready's challenge unravelled.

Trudy Molins claimed two wickets for seven runs, while Ashwi Manoj bowled a wicket-maiden.

The 81-run victory sends Merrion into the decider in commanding form, where Holywood will have home advantage as the two sides battle for the All-Ireland crown.
