Adamstown produced a fine all-round display to defeat Coleraine by 51 runs and clinch the All-Ireland Under-13 title at Sandel Lodge.

Batting first, the Leinster side posted an imposing 147 for four, with Mithil Balamurugan the star of the show.

The wicketkeeper struck an excellent 70 from just 49 deliveries, including eight fours and two sixes, while captain Akshith Varatharaj made 10 and Tharan Shetty contributed 13. Sohan Saliyan** added a brisk 19 from 13 balls before Aarav Chimakurthy finished unbeaten on 11.

Dylan Cochrane was the pick of the Coleraine attack with two wickets, with James Murdock and Vincent McGowan also successful.

Coleraine’s chase got off to the worst possible start when Akshith Varatharaj bowled Ben McCracken with the first delivery. James Murdock made 14 before Dylan Cochrane gave the Bannsiders hope with an enterprising 38 from 32 balls, containing six boundaries.

Once Cochrane departed, however, Adamstown’s greater depth and gamecraft told.

Varatharaj, Tharan Shetty and Sohan Saliyan all claimed two wickets, while Jugraj Singh Bakshi also struck and Adamstown effected three run-outs in an impressive fielding display.

Coleraine were dismissed for 96, leaving Adamstown deserved All-Ireland champions after an accomplished display with bat, ball and in the field.
