There's many a full member player that comes into associate cricket at the end of their career, perhaps expecting a relatively easier time of it. They usually soon find out that their talent and experience isn't always enough to succeed.

Moises Henriques certainly discovered that yesterday as he was dismissed for just one run during Portugal's chase of Germany's total of 140-9. Fortunately for the new Portugeuse captain though, they are not a one man team and knocks of 65 by Christopher De Frietas and an unbeaten 31 by Carlos Nunes helped secure a four wicket win with four balls to spare.

The result put Portugal on top of Group B, and with Germany being their main contenders for the group, puts them well placed to qualify for Friday's final.

Earlier in the day in Group B, Greece batted first against Czechia and scored 147-9. The Czechs chased down this target with ten balls to spare to win by six wickets, Sudesh Wickramasekara top scoring with an unbeaten 38 from only 18 balls.

In Group A, Spain look to be the early front runners, following their quick run chase against hosts Finland on the opening day with an even more dominant performance against the Isle of Man. The Manx side were kept to 108-8 from their 20 overs, with Spain chasing down their target in 13.3 overs. Daniel Doyle-Calle top scored with 47 not out in the seven wicket win.

In the afternoon Group A game, Finland bounced back from that opening day defeat with a crushing win against Bulgaria. Batting first they scored 232-9 from their 20 overs, Faheem Nellancheri top scoring with 37 from 13 balls. Hammadullah Shinwari then took 5-28 as the Bulgarians were bowled out for 140, losing by 92 runs.
