SCOTLAND Women will host the Netherlands in a three-match One-Day International series later this month as the European rivals renew their rivalry.

The opening game will take place at Titwood, the home of Clydesdale Cricket Club, on Friday, August 28, before the series moves to Stirling for matches on Sunday, August 30 and Tuesday, September 1.

Cricket Scotland Head of Performance Steve Snell believes the series will provide valuable opportunities for players who have had limited exposure to ODI cricket.

“We’re really pleased to announce this series which is an excellent opportunity for the squad to play ODI cricket across multiple venues here in Scotland,” said Snell.

“Due to the short notice timing of this series being announced, we expect there to be opportunities for some players that may not have a large amount of experience of ODI cricket.”

Snell also highlighted the importance of the matches for the Netherlands, who are seeking to secure their ODI status, while stressing the wider benefits for European cricket.

For the Dutch, the series will also mark the first assignment for new Women’s Head Coach Pierre de Bruyn.

KNCB Women’s High-Performance Manager Subir Shrestha said the games would offer players with little or no 50-over international experience the chance to develop, while allowing the new coaching group to begin shaping its identity.

The Netherlands’ most recent ODI fixtures also came against Scotland in 2024, adding another layer to the three-match series.
