Louise Little produced a spectacular unbeaten 151 as Pembroke chased down 201 to beat Rush by seven wickets in a high-scoring encounter.

Rush had earlier posted an imposing 200 for four from their 20 overs, built around a superb second-wicket partnership of 135 between Cate Pedersen and Rebecca Lowe.

Lowe was the more aggressive, striking 79 from just 49 balls with 12 fours and two sixes, while Pedersen carried her bat for an unbeaten 77 from 57 deliveries, hitting 10 boundaries and a six.

Marama Downes was outstanding with the ball for Pembroke, taking two for 11 from her four overs, while Jessica Duffy-Mullen claimed the other wicket.

Pembroke lost Isobel Jennings for two in the opening over and were 51 for three after Izzy Mclean made 10 and Downes was dismissed without scoring.

That only set the stage for a remarkable assault from Little.

She smashed 20 fours and eight sixes in her extraordinary 66-ball innings, dominating an unbroken fourth-wicket partnership of 151 with Susie Whaley.

Whaley provided excellent support with an unbeaten 27 from 26 balls as the pair transformed the chase, Pembroke racing to victory with nine balls to spare.

Elizabeth Cohr was Rush’s most successful bowler, claiming two for 25, but Little’s breathtaking innings ensured the visitors’ 200 proved insufficient, keeping their outside title chances intact.
