Donemana lifted the Midweek Cup in emphatic fashion as they swept aside Ardmore by 10 wickets in a one-sided final at The Holm.

After restricting Ardmore to 123, Donemana openers Jake McGerrigle and Joe Robinson made short work of the target, racing to victory just past the halfway point of the chase.

Robinson, who was named Man of the Match, smashed an unbeaten 56 from 33 deliveries, striking five fours and four sixes, while McGerrigle was equally impressive, matching his opening partner with an unbeaten 51 from 35 balls, including six fours and two maximums.

Earlier, Ardmore struggled to build sustained partnerships, with George Dalton providing the backbone of the innings with 34 from 27 balls. Muhammad Edrees contributed a brisk 16, while Shintoy Antony made 15.

Donemana kept taking wickets at regular intervals, with Lucas Stevenson producing the pick of the bowling figures. He claimed three wickets for just seven runs to ensure Ardmore were unable to mount a late charge.

Mark Averill also impressed with two for 17, while McGerrigle capped an excellent all-round performance by taking two wickets. Ardmore had reached 87 for four when Dalton departed and never recovered sufficiently, losing their final five wickets for another 36 runs.

Any hopes they had of defending 123 quickly disappeared as Robinson and McGerrigle dominated from the outset. The pair completed an emphatic victory with more than nine overs to spare, sealing the Midweek Cup in commanding style.

North West Cricket Union President John Semple conducted the post-match presentations, with Robinson collecting the Man of the Match award before Donemana received the trophy.
