Pembroke won the Leinster Senior Cup for a record 16^th time with a crushing 222 runs victory over Leinster CC.

It is the second of a potential five-trophy winning haul and was never in doubt once Leinster had collapsed to 28 for four after10 overs.

Soon it was 52 for seven and although Saqib Bahadur, found a willing partner in Mark Tonge to get Leinster into three figures, it was all over just 13 runs later, bowled out in the 29^th over with Paul Lawson picking up the last three wickets in his second and third overs.

Bahadur’s 48 from 52 balls, was the only score higher than 14 as Olly Riley, Addison Sherriff and Daniel Murray all got among the wickets.

Arguably it was game over after Pembroke has posted 335 for six in their 50 overs with JJ Garth upstaging the Ireland internationals with 113.

He shared a second wicket stand of 83 with Andrew Balbirnie who made 27 and 88 for the third  with Harry Tector who would go on to make 94 from 71 balls with 12 fours.

Garth’s final boundary count was 15 fours and three sixes, with Sherriff the only other batter to clear the boundary,  twice, in an unbeaten 38 from 26 balls and with the help of Harry Tector, Leinster added 97 in the last 10 overs and on their way to a hat-trick of Senior Cup successes.

Next up for Pembroke’s class  of 2026, the All-Ireland T20 semi-final at Newbuildings next Sunday.
