Searle century powers Clontarf to crushing win

Robyn Searle struck a brilliant century as Clontarf Women swept to a commanding 103-run victory over Balbriggan.

Batting first, Clontarf amassed 215 for one from their 20 overs, with Searle and Christina Coulter-Reilly dominating a huge opening partnership of 186.

Searle was the aggressor, hammering 103 from just 62 balls with 12 fours and two sixes before falling to Courtney Gounden in the 18th over.

Irish international Coulter-Reilly remained unbeaten on 78 from 51 deliveries, striking 10 boundaries, while Alice Walsh added a rapid 14 not out from nine balls.

Balbriggan’s reply never threatened the imposing target despite useful early contributions from Gounden and Madison Landsman.

Gounden made 23, while Landsman struck 20 from 13 balls, including three fours and a six. Julia Hoal added 15, but regular wickets prevented any sustained momentum.

Annabel Walsh claimed two for 28, while Hannah Lee returned an economical two for 10. Searle completed an outstanding all-round performance by taking two wickets for four runs as Balbriggan were dismissed for 112.

Indie Harper and Anna Vezhakattu were Searle’s victims as Clontarf completed an emphatic victory.
