Coleraine Women climbed into second place in the table with an eight-wicket victory over Bonds Glen, leapfrogging their opponents to sit behind champions Bready.

Amy Caufield and Amelia Guy shared an opening stand of 67

Bonds Glen posted 115 for four from their 20 overs, recovering from a difficult start through an important partnership between Emily Young and captain Stephanie Wilkinson.

Young carried her bat for an unbeaten 44, while Wilkinson made 41 before being run out from the final delivery. Their stand rebuilt the innings after Rihanna Young, Jessica Cooke and Poppy Miller had all fallen cheaply, leaving Bonds Glen 38 for three.

Amy Caulfield led the Coleraine attack with two for 14 from four overs, while Kenya McCartney claimed the other wicket to fall.

Coleraine made a confident start to the chase through Caulfield and Amelia Guy, who shared an opening partnership of 67.

Guy struck 34 before being caught by Cooke off Sarah Haslett, but Caulfield continued to anchor the innings with a composed unbeaten 43.

Captain Kia McCartney added 19 before being trapped lbw by Young with the finishing line in sight.

Hannah Skinner then joined Caulfield to complete the chase, with Coleraine easing home in the 18th over.

St Johnston’s search for a first top-flight victory continued after Eglinton completed a rapid chase in a rain-affected contest.

The Donegal side posted a competitive 130 for four from their 20 overs, recovering after slipping from 38 without loss to 40 for three.

Leah Roulston made 10 and Shannon Porter struck 18 before Catherine Kee removed both. Sarah Macbeth steadied the innings with an unbeaten 22, while Megan Colhoun provided the main impetus with 32. Captain Jessica Brolly added an unbeaten 14 not out during a useful late stand.

Eglinton attacked from the outset in reply. Catherine Kee and captain Lucy Carmichael both made 10, but Jenni Jackson anchored the chase with an unbeaten 35.

Arianna McKenna supplied the decisive acceleration, scoring 33 before being bowled by Macbeth with the total on 117.

Eglinton reached their DLS adjusted target in only the 11th over, leaving St Johnston still seeking a breakthrough win after another difficult Premiership outing.
