Although it was a Junior League Three top of the table clash against morning leaders Muckamore III, the visitors posted an incredible 492 for two in their innings of just 35 overs.

The key was the opening partnership of exactly 300, brought up in the 21st over, between Bruce Topping, of Lisburn fame back in the 1990s, and Ben Ogle. It was Topping's third hundred of the season, while it was Ogle's maiden ton.

Two overs went for 27, the 13th which was a nine-ball over and the 19th  when Topping hit three successive sixes, while seven others went for at least 20. So a special mention for Khadar Mohammad who conceded only four singles in the 25th over.

Ogle was the first to be dismissed, stumped for 151, having hit 20 fours and eight sixes in his innings of just 66 balls, and one wicket brought two as Topping was caught behind in the next over for 134 from 62 balls with 14 fours and nine sixes.

It was to be Muckamore’s last success, however, as Darren Vennard then plundered a 48-ball century, with 11 fours and six sixes. He added a single to be 102 not out when the overs ran out with Scott Armstrong 61 not out from 33 balls. He hit eight fours and two sixes.

Muckamore posted a respectable 279 for seven in their reply mainly thanks to Bradley Hodge who finished 93 not out; he failed to score from the last two balls of the innings.

It left the victory margin as 213 runs and Donaghcloney Mill the new leaders, due to their superior run rate, but it was a total of 492 for two in 35 overs which will surely go into the record books.
