Newbuildings surged into a fifth consecutive North West Senior Cup final after a devastating bowling performance by Peat Salmon swept Fox Lodge aside in a one-sided semi-final.

Fox Lodge looked placed at 65 for one, with former Newbuildings opener Charlie Simpson making 33 and Gayan Maneeshan adding 17. From there, however, the innings collapsed in extraordinary fashion, the final nine wickets tumbling for only 26 runs.
West Indian international Peat Salmon was the chief destroyer, returning season-best figures of seven for eight from 7.3 overs, including three maidens. His spell ripped through the middle and lower order, with Jason Milligan, Alastair Doherty and Travis Nicholl among his victims. Swarnim Jha, Jonny Robinson and Andy Heywood all departed without scoring as Fox Lodge were dismissed for just 91.
Ryan Hunter offered excellent support with two for 10, while Josh Wilson claimed the remaining wicket to complete the rout.
Newbuildings then made light work of the chase. Jason Dunn struck 41 from 34 balls, hitting four fours and four sixes, while Mark Hanna raced to an unbeaten 30 from only 16 deliveries. The pair added 62 for the opening wicket before Fox Lodge briefly claimed two wickets.
Hunter fell for one, but Salmon capped a superb all-round display with an unbeaten 23 from eight balls, including three sixes, as Newbuildings reached their target in the 11th over.
The emphatic eight-wicket victory keeps them on course for a domestic treble. They lifted the Faughan Valley Cup last weekend and currently sit top of the Premiership table.
