Portugal have swept a 3 game men's T20I series on their tour of Sweden as they prepare for their European sub-regional qualifier next month in Finland.

The series began on Wednesday at Botkyrka Cricket Centre in Stockholm with the visitors asked to bat first. Captain Carlos Nunes smashed 67 from 30 balls as his team scored 169-8 from their 20 overs. Sweden got close in their reply, largely thanks to Wynand Boshoff's unbeaten 47, but fell 12 runs short on 157-8.

The second game was played later the same day, with Sweden this time choosing to bat first. Imal Zuwak top scored with 32 as the home side scored 143-9 from their 20 overs. Sebastian de Oliveira was the pick of the bowlers for Portugal with 4-25. Chad Potgieter top scored with 42 in the Portuguese run chase as they chased down their target with 14 balls to spare, winning by seven wickets to seal the series win.

The final game was played yesterday, with Portugal this time winning the toss and asking Sweden to bat first. Darshan Lakhani top scored with 51 from 38 balls as the hosts were bowled out for 156. Portugal captain Carlos Nunes then scored 46 before being run out going for the winning run from the final ball of the game.

This sent the game to a super over, with Portugal batting first. Sebastian de Oliveira was the only batter to face any deliveries and scored 20 for his team, with Sweden contributing a wide to the total of 21. Sweden's over got off to a poor start when non-striker Sami Rahmani was run out from the first ball. Wynand Boshoff then scored 13 with one extra coming from a wide as the home side fell seven runs short.

Portugal now take the trip across the Baltic Sea to Finland for a five match series against the hosts at the same venue where they will play their sub-regional event in August.
