Leinster booked their place in the semi-finals of the Leinster Senior Cup with a commanding 155-run victory over Railway Union at Park Avenue.

Railway made the ideal start when Liam McCarthy struck two early blows, but Leinster recovered superbly through a match-defining third-wicket partnership of 124 between Irish international Gareth Delany and Monil Patel. Delany dominated proceedings with a brilliant 118, striking five fours and five sixes, while Patel contributed a fluent 60 from 72 deliveries. Delany then shared a further 93-run stand for the fifth wicket with Tom O’Connor, whose 39 helped lift Leinster to an imposing 278 for 7.

Any hopes of a Railway fightback quickly faded in the chase. Rob Carr made 33 and Phillipe le Roux added 27, but Railway never seriously threatened the target. Bilal Azhar’s devastating spell of 3 for 1 ripped through the middle order, while Saqib Bahadur claimed 3 for 26 and O’Connor completed an excellent all-round display with 2 for 24 as Railway were dismissed for 123 in 33.1 overs.

Pembroke continued their impressive pursuit of silverware with a hard-fought 38-run victory over Balbriggan in the third round of the Leinster Senior Cup at Sydney Parade.

The hosts were in early trouble at 21 for 2 after the quick departures of JJ Garth and Tim Tector, but a superb third-wicket partnership of 140 between Addison Sherriff and Harry Tector restored control. Sherriff struck 71, including six boundaries, while Tector made 76 with two fours and two sixes.

Pembroke accelerated impressively in the closing stages. Lorcan Tucker blasted 47 from just 39 balls before Jack Tector's unbeaten 58 from 36 deliveries helped add 93 for the fifth wicket. Gavin Hoey then provided the late fireworks, smashing 34 from only 11 balls as Pembroke posted 316 for 6.

Balbriggan appeared beaten at 51 for 4 and later 152 for 6, despite Chris de Freitas making 52. Jordan Hollard launched a spirited counterattack with a 66-ball 83, but Pembroke's total proved beyond reach as the cup holders advanced.

The Hills booked their place in the semi-finals with a four-wicket victory over Adamstown in a low-scoring encounter at The Vineyard. 

Adamstown were dismissed for just 114 in 30.5 overs as The Hills' bowlers dominated. Tomas Rooney Murphy led the way with impressive figures of 4 for 19, while brothers Muzamil Sherzad (3-24) and Mohammad Sherzad (2-18) provided excellent support. 

The chase was completed in 19.1 overs despite a few setbacks. Nathan Rooney struck a decisive 41 from only 23 deliveries, including five fours and two sixes, while Muzamil Sherzad had earlier set the tone with a blistering 18-ball 30 featuring four sixes.

Aryan Adelkar, Shravon Biju and Sharaj Jagadeesan all claimed two wickets apiece for Adamstown, but The Hills comfortably reached 115 for 6 to secure their place in the last four.

In the semi-finals on Sunday July 5th Pembroke will host The Hills, while Leinster entertain North County.
