McGerrigle stars as Donemana cruise to North West Under-15 Cup glory
Donemana will represent the North West in the All-Ireland Under-15 competition later this summer after an emphatic 10-wicket victory over Bready in the North West Under-15 Cup Final at Magheramason.

The final was effectively decided by a superb all-round display from Roy McGerrigle, who produced a superb performance to earn the Man of the Match award. The Donemana youngster claimed four wickets for just 13 runs, took three catches and completed a run out as Bready were dismissed for only 68 in 19.4 overs.

Bready struggled to build any meaningful partnerships against a disciplined Donemana attack. Opener Zach Loughlin top-scored with 14, while Tyler Faulkner made 11, but wickets fell regularly as McGerrigle led the way. Alfie Moan provided excellent support, taking 2 for 17, while Donemana's sharp fielding ensured Bready were never able to gain momentum.
Chasing a modest target, Donemana's opening pair made light work of the task. Captain Ollie Britton and Alfie Moan shared an unbroken partnership of 70 to secure victory in just 9.3 overs.

Both batsmen faced exactly 29 deliveries in a perfectly balanced opening stand. Britton struck eight boundaries in an unbeaten 35, while Moan finished on 30 not out, including four fours, as the pair dominated from the outset and denied Bready any opportunity of a breakthrough.
The trophy was presented by newly installed North West President John Semple, who congratulated both teams on reaching the final. Semple also paid tribute to the parents, the Bready ground staff for their remarkable efforts in ensuring the game went ahead, and match officials Noel Dunn and Norman Allen for their contribution to a successful occasion.

It completed a memorable week for Donemana who also lifted the U18 Cup on Tuesday, and who now carry North West hopes into the national finals later in the season.
