Leinster Lightning made it two wins out of two in the Inter-provincial Trophy competition, following up their win in the only game to beat the weather in Bready with a eight wickets hammering of Northern Knights in the first game at Pembroke.

After restricting Knights to 152 for nine, Tim Tector and captain Lorcan Tucker saw them to victory in just the 14th over with an unbroken partnership of 65.

Tector hit four fours and three sixes in his 56 but Tucker overtook him with the winning shot, finishing on 58 with five fours and four sixes.

After being put into bat, only James McCollum faced more than 20 balls for the Knights on his way to a top score of 24 as four of the five Lightning bowlers all got among the wickets.

The opening pair of Jai Moondra and Matthew Hollard each took three, Gavin Hoey two and George Dockrell was the most economical of them all, with one for 15 in his four overs.

There are two matches on Wednesday with the Warriors facing the Knights in the morning, followed by an afternoon tussle with Leinster.
