Adam Chester joins Ardmore

Ardmore have confirmed the signing of Adam Chester from Phoenix.

The middle-order batsman skippered Phoenix to the Irish Senior Cup, beating Merrion by one run in a dramatic final at Cork in 2024.

His capture is a real boost to the Bleachgreen side, who play in the North West Championship and face University of Galway in the National Cup in two weeks' time.

"I'm really looking forward to playing some cricket in the North West," said Chester.

"I've spoken with people involved with the club and captain Mark Chambers, and there seems to be a good blend of talent, youth and experience in the squad.

"There's a good opportunity to go deep in the National Cup which would be great, and there seems to be a good drive behind trying to win that competition.

"The league is at relatively early stages so a few wins there and we can really get into contention quite quickly," he added.

Ardmore have a double-header this weekend as they take on Glendermott at the Rectory on Saturday, followed by their senior cup replay at Beechgrove on Sunday.
