BREADY LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK

Bready will be looking to put Saturday’s loss behind them as they travel to St Johnston this weekend. Skipper Ryan Clarke wasn’t too downbeat as he reflected on their performance.

“I thought we fought well to get 228 in tricky conditions first up after losing the toss,” said Clarke. “David Scanlon obviously led us to that total with a good unbeaten half century, but he got backed up by everyone chipping in.

“Second half I thought we had tougher conditions especially for the seamers. Albeit though, I think we just got our areas wrong too often when bowling. We have no doubt we’ll bounce back away at the Saints. We know it won’t be easy but we’re confident we have what it takes to get a result.”

Bready missed the bowling services of their overseas professional Josh van Heerden, who is returning from a shoulder injury back in South Africa, but who is expected to be back to full fitness in the coming week.

There are also the added ingredients of spice to the game in Donegal, with former Bready players Conor Olphert and Mark Pollock lining up for the opposition.

Interesting times indeed.
