Waringstown have announced the signing of South African Steve Stolk as their overseas professional for the 2026 campaign.

The 20-year-old hails from Pretoria and has international pedigree having represented his country at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup despite being only 17-years-old. He enjoyed a successful tournament, being nominated for the player of the tournament.

Indeed, he broke the Under-19 record for the fastest 50 in just 13 balls against Scotland, going on to make 83 from just 37 balls thumping 34 from just one over.

He made his debut for the Titans men's team at just 18, and has been bought during the last two SA T20 auctions, for Pretoria Capitals in 2025 and Joburg Super Kings this year.

Stolk has previous UK experience which will enable him to hit the ground running at The Lawn.

“Steve instantly caught our eye in terms of age profile and the type of player he is in terms of what we felt our batting line up needed and what his strengths are," Head Coach Lee Nelson told the club Facebook page.

“We believe he will fit in incredibly well considering the age profile of the squad, contribute well with the ball, and also bring undoubted energy in the field. We hope everyone will see the best of Steve at The Lawn this coming summer.”
