Ed Joyce has joined Gloucestershire as a batting consultant on a short-term deal.

It's the first role for the former Ireland international after he stepped down as Women's Head Coach last year.

“I’ve really enjoyed my first couple of weeks getting to know the players and staff at Gloucestershire," Joyce told the club website. "Everyone has been very welcoming and there is clearly a lot of talent and hunger to succeed within the squad.

"I haven’t been involved in county cricket since 2016 and I’ve missed it a lot. I’m looking forward to a pre-season working at this great Club, as well as doing anything I can to help the batting group through the first round of Championship fixtures in April and May.”
