Gaby Lewis played a lone hand again in Kathmandu on Wednesday as Ireland failed to chase down 160 to beat Scotland in their first Super Six clash at the T20 World Cup qualifiers.

Lewis, who made scores of 42, 42, 73 and 33 in the group stage, fell for 41 from 37 balls as the Girls in Green were bowled out for 121, to lose by 39 runs.

Leah Paul was the only batter to give her skipper significant support, making 15 in a partnership of 47 for the third wicket, and Louise Little briefly sparkled with 17 from 13 balls, but Scotland were always comfortably in control.

The defeat leaves Ireland in the precarious position of needing to beat the unbeaten Netherlands on Friday or Thailand in their final match — and possibly both — to qualify for the finals.
