We need more umpires – could that be you?
NIACUS, in conjunction with the NCU, are in desperate need for new umpires to officiate in the upcoming season. If that appeals to you – the best seat in the house to watch a match – then the place to start is by doing the internationally-recognised Level 1 umpire course, delivered by ICC umpire tutors, at Campbell College on the weekend of March 7-8, from 9am-5pm both days..

If you want to umpire and continue playing, that can also be accommodated because the expanding NCU fixture list includes Saturday, Sunday and midweek games.
A full programme of Senior League and Junior League One games involves 22 matches, so NIACUS needs 44 umpires to cover every game. Currently, they have exactly 44 members but there would never be that number available every weekend, because of a variety of reasons (availability, injury, sickness, representative duties etc). Indeed some weekends last season saw only 24 umpires available, so only 12 matches were covered that day.
So whether you are a current player, a former player or simply passionate about cricket, this is your chance to give back and stay involved.
