Tanzania produced an incredible fightback to beat Ireland in their final warm-up match ahead of the U19 World Cup in Namibia.

The African Associates slumped to 21 for 6 chasing 198 thanks primarily to a new-ball burst from skipper Olly Riley, and wickets for Luke Murray and Adam Leckey.

However, they dug in and regrouped with stands of 49, 64, and 66 for the 7th, 8th and 9th wickets, taking them to within eight runs.

Riley (5-28) took his fifth in an attempt to save Irish blushes, but they prevailed in a tense finale.

The Irish conceded a whopping 47 extras including 32 wides and 2 no-balls in a ragged display that gives them plenty to work on ahead of the tournament opener later this week against defending champions Australia.

Earlier, Ireland threw away strong positions at 119-3 and 156 for 4 - none of the set batters kicking on to make a sizeable contribution.

Adam Leckey (38) top-scored, adding 51 for the fourth wicket with Rob O'Brien (30), while there were runs too for Freddie Ogilby (36) and Marko Bates (33).

Khalidy Juma (5-35) was the star with the ball for Tanzania, but he was pipped to the Player of the Match Accoade by Riley.
