Lisburn needed all their top batters to fire but Ross Adair was caught at mid-off in the first over to Sheriff, who also had Whitworth caught behind for 16 and when Gavin Hoey joined the attack he had Ben Calitz caught at slip for 11. That left Lisburn 55 for five and Hoey did the rest, wrapping up the tail to finish with five for 23 in just 6.5 overs. What odds an away draw in the semi-final to an NCU club in the semi-final? They will have no fears.

Sydney Parade, 29 May.
Railway Union 133-7 (20 overs; H Hamilton 34, A Tipnis 30; A Sheriff 3-30, P Lawson 2-22, B McDonough 2-28)
Pembroke 135-6 (19.3 overs; D Hogan 48, T Tector 25; A Tipnis 2-17)
Pembroke secured a four-wicket victory over Railway Union in a closely contested T20 encounter at Sydney Parade. Railway Union posted 133-7 from their 20 overs, with Hayden Hamilton top-scoring with 34 and Abhay Tipnis contributing 30. The pair laid the foundations with a valuable 57-run partnership that occupied eight overs. Pembroke’s bowlers kept things under control, however, with Addison Sherriff claiming 3-30, while Paul Lawson and Byron McDonough each picked up two wickets. The chase initially looked straightforward as Tim Tector and Danny Hogan dominated the Railway attack. Hogan struck an impressive 48 from just 32 balls, including nine fours and a six, while Tector added 25. Their 76-run stand came in only seven overs and appeared to have put Pembroke firmly in command. Railway Union battled back admirably, tightening the scoring rate and taking regular wickets to keep the outcome in doubt. Tipnis led the resistance with 2-17 as the pressure mounted. Despite the late wobble, Pembroke held their nerve to reach 135-6 with three balls remaining and seal a hard-earned win.
Irish Senior Cup
Round 2: Instonians lost to Pembroke by 121 runs.
Shaw's Bridge, 24 May.
Pembroke 214-9 (50 overs; S Gupta 60*, T Tector 46; A White 3-37)
Instonians 93 (22 overs; R McKinley 21; P Lawson 4-33, B McDonough 3-35, A Sheriff 2-11)
Pembroke bowling heroes Byron McDonough, Addison Sherriff and Paul Lawson (Barry Tucker/Pembroke CC)
NCU Premier League champions Instonians crashed to their third defeat in four days, in three different competitions, as Pembroke showed their strength in depth in the Irish Cup. Without their Ireland Test players plus the injured Barry McCarthy and JJ Garth, Pembroke bowled out Instonians for just 93 to win by 121 runs. Sunil Gupta top scored for the visitors with 60 not out from 52 balls, while Bryon McDonough hit two sixes in an unbeaten 17 in the last wicket partnership. McDonough then made the breakthrough, having Neil Rock caught for 10 with only Robert McKinley in his first match of the season providing any resistance as Instonians crashed to 60 for eight. Paul Lawson, McDonough and Addison Sheriff shared the wickets.
Leinster Premiership
Pembroke beat Phoenix by 26 runs.
Sydney Parade, 23 May.
Pembroke 248 (47.5 overs; A Sherriff 66, D Hogan 58, S Gupta 27; J Maginnis 3-22, B White 2-42, S McNicholl 2-53)
Phoenix 222 (46.4 overs; G Dockrell 79, J Munjal 42, S Getkate 35; B McDonough 4-55, P Lawson 2-24)
Pembroke stayed on course for a successful title defence with a 26-run victory over Phoenix at Sydney Parade despite fielding an understrength side. Addison Sherriff top-scored with 66, striking eight fours in a polished innings, while Danny Hogan added 58 with five boundaries and a six as Pembroke posted 248 all out in 47.5 overs. S Gupta chipped in with 27, while James Maginnis was the pick of the Phoenix attack with 3-22. Ben White and Sean McNicholl both claimed two wickets. Phoenix looked well placed in the chase after a flying start from Johit Munjal and Shane Getkate, who added 91 for the opening wicket. Munjal made 42 and Getkate 35 before George Dockrell kept the pursuit alive with a superb 79. However, the middle and lower order collapsed under pressure as Byron McDonough ripped through the batting with four wickets. Paul Lawson provided excellent support with two scalps as Phoenix were dismissed for 222 in 46.4 overs.
Leinster Women's Cup
Round 1: Pembroke beat Clontarf by 4 runs.
Sydney Parade, 21 May.
Pembroke 133-7 (20 overs; I Jennings 37; K O'Toole 2-22)
Clontarf 129-9 (20 overs; R Searle 41, G Morrissey 39; M Nicoll 3-17, O Prendergast 2-19)
Pembroke edged into the second round of the Leinster Cricket Union Women’s Senior Cup with a dramatic four-run victory over Clontarf at Sydney Parade. A competitive Pembroke total of 133 for 7 was built around a solid 37 from Isobel Jennings, while Katie O'Toole impressed with the ball for Clontarf, taking 2 for 22. In reply, Clontarf fell agonisingly short on 129 for 9 despite strong efforts from overseas professional Robyn Searle, who made 41, and Genevieve Morrissey with 39. Pembroke held their nerve in the closing overs thanks to an excellent bowling display led by Maire Nicoll’s 3 for 17 and 2 for 19 from Orla Prendergast.
Irish Senior Cup
Round 1: Waringstown lost to Pembroke by 8 wickets.
The Lawn, 9 May.
Waringstown 300 (46.3 overs; A Dennison 91, S Stolk 74, M Topping 48, J McCollum 33, T Mayes 29; G Hoey 5-63, B McDonough 3-41)
Pembroke 303-2 (43.4 overs; T Tector 152*, M Cosgrave 51, A Sheriff 47, H Tector 45*)
Tim Tector made a brilliant 152 (CricketEurope)
A chanceless 152 not out by Tim Tector won the match of the round against six-times winners Waringstown as they chased down the home side’s 300 with more than six overs to spare. Tector hit just 17 fours and shared stands of 115 with Macdara Cosgrave, 90 with Addison Sheriff and 98 with brother Harry in a dominant batting display. And they did it without regular opening batter JJ Garth who dislocated a finger and Barry McCarthy who injured his left knee when bowling his seventh over. Waringstown also lost Graham Hume after bowling just 11 balls, with a back injury but it was the loss of their last six wickets for 13 runs which proved fatal for the Villagers. Gavin Hoey was the Pembroke bowling star with five wickets after Steve Stolk and Adam Dennison had put on 119 for the first wicket.
Leinster Women's League
Clontarf lost to Pembroke by 1 run.
Castle Avenue, 7 May.
Pembroke 143-7 (20 overs; E Mullen 35, S Forbes 28; K O'Toole 2-22)
Clontarf 142-6 (20 overs; R Searle 50; A Beale 2-25)
There was a real thriller at Castle Avenue where Pembroke held their nerve to win a last- ball thriller by one run. Chasing 144, a half century from Robyn Searle, and 22 apiece took them to the brink of victory with three needed from the final two balls. Anna Beale however dismissed Barry, then ran out Sinead Thomson as she tried for the second run that would have tied the game. Earlier, Eimear Mullen (35), Sarah Forbes (28) and Clare Shillington (21) were all in the runs in a Pembroke total of 143 for 7 - Katie O'Toole (2-22) the pick of the Clontarf bowlers.
Leinster Premiership
Pembroke beat Merrion by 7 wickets.
Sydney Parade, 4 May.
Merrion 224-9 (50 overs; S Stanton 55, J Forbes 43, C Botha 27; A Sherriff 2-38, P Lawson 2-40, B McCarthy 2-47)
Pembroke 225-3 (40 overs; T Tector 96, H Tector 61*, L Tucker 35*)
Tim Tector led the chase with 96 (Rodney Smythe)
Pembroke's Galacticos once again showed their quality and depth as they fielded no fewer than six internationals and an overseas player as they brushed aside the challenge of Merrion at Sydney Parade. In truth they didn't have to get out of second gear as they restricted the visitors to 224 for 9. Skipper Sean Stanton made 55 (5 fours, 4 sixes) and Jamie Forbes 43 in a sixth wicket stand of 82 after they were wobbling at 71 for 5. The wickets were shared with two apiece for Addison Sherriff, Paul Lawson and Barry McCarthy. Tim Tector broke the back of the chase as he clubbed 13 fours and 2 sixes in an 86-ball 96, sharing a third wicket stand of 78 with brother Harry, who also added an unbroken 79 for the fourth with Lorcan Tucker (35*). Harry's unbeaten 61 came at better than a run-a-ball with five fours and one maximum.
Leinster Premiership
Rush lost to Pembroke by 198 runs.
Kenure, 2 May.
Pembroke 383-8 (50 overs; A Sheriff 106, H Tector 61, J Garth 53, L Tucker 42, G Hoey 41; I Bird 2-61, A Neary 2-82, A Abbasi 2-84)
Rush 185 (31.3 overs; A Taniwal 64, N Totakhil 34; B Mcdonough 2-23, A Sherriff 2-28, H Tector 2-33, G Hoey 2-48, L Murray 2-51)
Addison Sheriff (Cricket Leinster)
There's a new sheriff in town - the name's Addison - with the Australian overseas player showed why he's so highly rated by New South Wales. Of course it helps when you stride to the wicket at 151 for 3 with 25 overs still left thanks to Pembroke's star-studded line-up full of internationals. One of those Harry Tector made a run-a-ball 61 (8 fours, 1 six), while JJ Garth also impressed with 53 and Lorcan Tucker a rapid 42. Sheriff found the small confines of Kenure very much to his liking as he thumped 9 fours and 5 sixes in a 64-ball 106. Gavin Hoey continued the carnage as he smote five maximums in a 19-ball 41. A final total of 383 for 8 )38 fours, 14 sixes) meant not many of the Rush attack were checking their figures at the break. The chase was never on, with only Abidullah Taniwal's quickfire 44-ball 64 (5 fours, 5 sixes) the highlight of their modest final total of 185. The wickets were shared with two apiece for Byron Mcdonough 2-23, Addison Sherriff 2-28, Harry Tector 2-33, Gavin Hoey 2-48, and Luke Murray 2-51. What's even more frightening is that Pembroke were without three of their internationals - Barry McCarthy, Josh Little and Andrew Balbirnie!
Leinster Women's League
Pembroke lost to Phoenix by 62 runs.
Sydney Parade, 26 April.
Phoenix 167-3 (20 overs; G Dempsey 57, Z Craig 47, A Tector 30)
Pembroke 105 (18.4 overs; A Tector 3-9, Z Craig 3-31, D Dalwood 2-21)
Leinster Premiership
Railway Union lost to Pembroke by 8 wickets.
Park Avenue, 25 April.
Railway Union 181 (49.2 overs; A Tipnis 38, C Walden 31, Bob Carr 22, R Smith 21; A Sherriff 3-28, H Tector 2-24, G Hoey 2-44)
Pembroke 182-2 (37.1 overs; Tim Tector 74, JJ Garth 74*; L McCarthy 2-31)
Champions Pembroke got the defence of their crown off to a winning start with an eight wicket win at Railway Union. The hosts posted 181 with Abhey Tipnis top scoring with 38, while there were runs too for Conor Walden (31), Bob Carr (22) and Ryan Smith (21). Addison Sherriff impressed on debut with three wickets, while there were two apiece for Irish internationals Harry Tector and Gavin Hoey. The chase was a straightforward one thanks to a century stand between openers Tim Tector and JJ Garth, both of whom scored 70s. The pair batted sensibly, putting away the bad balls in their partnership of 146. Tim Tector was the more aggressive of the two, hitting six fours and two sixes in his 74 from 76 balls, before being bowled by Liam McCarthy. Like London buses, McCarthy then castled Harry Tector first ball. There were no further alarms as JJ Garth finished unbeaten on 74 (7 fours), while overseas professional Sherriff made an unbeaten 16 as the win was sealed in the 38th over. On this showing the holders will take some stopping.
