Eglinton were crowned inaugural Championship T20 winners, topping the table after an emphatic 46-run victory over Killyclooney in a high-scoring contest.

The visitors amassed an imposing 217 for 5, with all of their top five making significant contributions.
Captain Andy Lucas provided the perfect platform with a blistering 24 from just 14 balls, striking four fours and a six before a second-wicket stand of 67 between Andy Millar and the in-form Dunith Jayathunga put Eglinton firmly in control.
Jayathunga continued his outstanding season with a devastating 22-ball 50, smashing five sixes, while Andy Millar made 43, including three fours and three sixes.
Jamie Millar then took centre stage, dominating 55-run partnerships with his brother and Ian Young (16) as he blasted an unbeaten 75 from only 31 deliveries. His breathtaking innings featured eight sixes and four fours, ensuring Eglinton finished with an imposing total. Giles Moan was Killyclooney's best bowler, taking 3 for 32.
Killyclooney needed a flying start but, despite a spirited effort, never seriously threatened the target. South African Keenan Vieira produced another entertaining innings, striking 62 from 44 balls with six fours and three sixes. He shared a half-century stand with Cody Mehaffey, whose 26 included six boundaries, but the required rate continued to climb.
Dunith Jayathunga completed an excellent all-round display by taking 3 for 40, while Jamie Millar claimed 2 for just 5 and Robbie Millar finished with 2 for 28 as Killyclooney closed on 171 for 8.
The victory secured the inaugural Championship T20 title for Eglinton, who were deserved winners after an outstanding campaign. While the competition was overshadowed at times by poor weather, team withdrawals and the lack of official umpires, the hope will be that the 2027 edition can build on the cricketing positives with fewer off-field controversies.
