A devastating century from Tristen de Beer powered South Leinster to Siggins Cup glory as they defeated North Leinster by 52 runs in an entertaining decider.

De Beer produced a stunning display of power-hitting, blasting 125 from just 87 deliveries with 11 fours and six sixes as South Leinster amassed an imposing 298 for 5 from their 48 overs.

The innings was built around a superb third-wicket partnership worth more than 100 with Tom Johnson, who anchored the innings with an excellent 88 from 107 balls, including 10 fours and a six.

Irish Under-19 international Rob O'Brien contributed a brisk 31, while Mark Tonge's unbeaten 24 from only 16 balls provided late impetus. Husnain Maroof was the most successful of the North Leinster attack with 2 for 76.

North Leinster's reply never quite gathered the momentum required despite several useful contributions.

North County pair John Devane (36) and Killian McGrane (34) provided runs at either end of the innings, while Adam Doyle struck a run-a-ball 44 and Matthew Langan added 32. The Malahide duo shared the visitors' best partnership of 79 for the fourth wicket, but the lack of substantial stands elsewhere proved costly.

Railway Union's Johan George starred with the ball, claiming 3 for 15, while Srihan Karpe and Farman Afridi took two wickets apiece as North Leinster were dismissed for 246 in 44.3 overs.

The trophy was presented to mark Tonge by Cricket Leinster President Brian Kelleher and Ger Siggins.
