It's been a few months short of four years since Scotland's last home women's international series - a rain impacted three match series against Ireland at the Grange.

Despite Scottish cricket teams habit of causing rain in all sorts of conditions, even they couldn't produce precipitation on an unseasonably warm May afternoon in Edinburgh during the first match of a T20I tri-series at the same venue.

Dutch captain Babette de Leede won the toss and chose to bat first, with the visitors making 141-8. Robine Rijke was their top scorer with 46, but the headline performance came from Kirstie Gordon in her first match for Scotland in nine years, her England career now officially over. In four overs of her left-arm finger spin, she took 3-27, easily the best bowling figures for the home side.

Scotland were largely untroubled in their run chase, with openers Darcey Carter and Katherine Fraser putting on 100 in 10.5 overs before Carter holed out for 55. Fraser and captain Kathryn Bryce then scored the rest of the runs required - Fraser reaching 56 - as they secured the nine wicket win with 5.1 overs to spare.

Bangladesh are the other team involved in the tri-series, and their first match will be on Saturday against the hosts.
