North County snatched the most dramatic victory of the opening round, tying with Rush before progressing on fewer wickets lost in a breathtaking finish at Kenure.
In a rain-shortened 25-over clash, Rush blasted 202 all out in just 22.4 overs after recovering from 33 for 3. Skipper Nathan McGuire launched a stunning counterattack, smashing 66 from only 28 balls with nine fours and four sixes.
Finn McGee then continued the assault with a brutal 45 from 20 deliveries that included six towering sixes. Brandon Morris and Husnain Maroof each claimed three wickets, while captain Eddie Richardson took two.
North County’s reply was built on solid contributions throughout the order. Lochie Hardy and John Devane both made 30, while Jamie Grassi hammered 25 from just 13 balls and Alan Mathew added a rapid 30.
But the final act belonged to Richardson, whose unbeaten 56 from 45 balls held his nerve under immense pressure.
With four needed from the last delivery, the skipper crashed the ball to the boundary to tie the scores and send North County through to a quarter-final meeting with Clontarf, as well as securing important Fingal bragging rights.
Leinster stormed into the next round with a stunning seven-wicket victory over Merrion at Rathmines.

Merrion recovered well after losing teenagers Oliver Molins and Seb Dijkstra early in the innings. Swapnil Modgill injected momentum with a rapid 32 from just 22 balls, including five fours and a six, before the ever-reliable John Anderson anchored the innings superbly with 82 from 83 deliveries, striking nine fours and two sixes.
Jai Moondra impressed with 3 for 39 ahead of this week’s Emerald Challenge, while Tom Johnson claimed two wickets as Merrion posted 190 for 8 from 30 overs.
Leinster’s chase looked shaky at 38 for 3 after Andrew Doheny struck twice, but the match was transformed by a breathtaking unbroken fourth-wicket partnership of 158 in just 11.3 overs.
Younas Ahmadzai produced a sensational unbeaten 105 from only 39 balls, hammering 12 fours and eight sixes in a remarkable assault on the Rathmines boundary and environs. Joey Carroll provided excellent support with an unbeaten 48 from 33 balls (6 fours, 2 sixes) as Leinster raced home with ease and booked a trip to Railway Union in the next round.
Clontarf edged a remarkable high-scoring thriller against Malahide by six wickets in a Leinster Senior Cup classic at Castle Avenue.
In a rain-reduced 26-over contest, Malahide looked in complete control after piling up 216 for 5.
Robbie Foulkes hammered 89 from 69 balls with nine fours and two sixes, sharing a blistering fourth-wicket partnership of 105 in only 56 balls with Head Coach Greg Ford, who smashed an unbeaten 63 from 35 deliveries.
John McNally claimed three wickets for the hosts.
Clontarf’s chase could hardly have begun worse when Seamus Lynch went first ball, but overseas professional Sam Morgan produced an innings for the ages. Morgan blasted a magnificent 136 from just 82 balls, smashing 11 fours and seven sixes to turn the game on its head.
Even after his dismissal there was late drama, but skipper Fionn Hand (39 not out from 21 balls) and Kartik Joshi sealed victory off the penultimate delivery in a match that will live long in the memory.

The Hills booked their place in the next round with a hard-fought 13-run victory over Terenure in a gripping clash that ebbed and flowed throughout.
Opener Muzamil Sherzad gave The Hills an explosive start, smashing 61 from just 50 balls with seven fours and three sixes. He shared a superb second-wicket stand of 82 with overseas professional Liam Blackford, who contributed 29.
However, from a commanding 93 for 1, The Hills collapsed dramatically to 160 all out in 36.4 overs. Bhavic Tukrel led the fightback with excellent figures of 4 for 35, while skipper Henry Dall and Alex Bafanda claimed two wickets each.
Terenure’s chase remained finely balanced throughout. Sid Nair struck 49 with six fours and two sixes, while Dall made 31 and Tukrel completed an impressive all-round display with 32. But The Hills held their nerve in the closing stages as skipper Tomas Rooney-Murphy took 3 for 29, supported by two wickets apiece from Killian McGrane, Matthew Weldon and Sherzad.
Their reward is a home tie against the winners of Civil Service/Adamstown.
Railway Union cruised into the next round with an emphatic eight-wicket DLS victory over Dublin University at College Park.
The Trinity side produced a disappointing batting display after making a promising start. Openers Macdara Cosgrave and Rory Betley helped their side to 51 for 1 with knocks of 19 and 17 respectively, but the innings quickly unravelled.
Don Retty top-scored with a modest 22 as the students were bowled out for 117 in 26 overs. Ashil Prakash starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 13, while Sean O'Brien and Sumit Kumar took two wickets apiece.
Railway Union lost Prakash and Bruce Whaley cheaply in reply, but a calm unbroken third-wicket partnership of 76 sealed a comfortable win.
Hayden Hamilton struck an unbeaten 51 from 53 balls with three fours and three sixes, while Ireland Under-19 international Rob O'Brien finished 36 not out as Railway reached their target in 21 overs. They now host Leinster in the last eight.
Balbriggan booked their place in the next round with a comfortable five-wicket DLS victory over North Kildare at The Maws.
After rain reduced the contest to 26 overs per side, North Kildare posted 149 for 7 thanks largely to an excellent unbeaten innings from opener Moize Haider.
Haider carried his bat for 65 from 77 balls, striking four fours and four sixes in a composed knock that held the innings together. Ankit Pareek chipped in with 20, but regular wickets prevented the hosts from building real momentum.
Balbriggan shared the bowling duties effectively, with Dylan Lues, Seb de Oliveira and Jordan Hollard all taking two wickets apiece.
Set a revised target of 157, Balbriggan made light work of the chase.
Cameron Rowe gave the innings early impetus with 31 from 30 balls before a decisive third-wicket partnership swung the game firmly their way.
Prashan Naidoo blasted 53 from 45 deliveries, including five fours and two sixes, while left-hander Chris de Freitas struck 46 from only 32 balls with seven boundaries and a six. Their stand of 77 in just 51 balls effectively settled the outcome long before the finish line was reached.
Balbriggan now progress to face the winners of the Phoenix versus Pembroke tie in the next round.
Only five balls were possible in the scheduled tie between Civil Service and Adamstown, while Phoenix and Pembroke couldn't make it out onto the Park at all. Both games will be replayed on Monday June 1st.
