We  asked Alan Waite with the unenviable task to name his all-time Waringstown XI. The famous club was founded in 1851, and will celebrate their 175th anniversary this season.

Waringstown have produced some of Ireland's most famous cricketers and given the number of senior internationals Alan decided to divide his team selections into three categories; 1851 to 1979, 1980-2005, and 2006 to the present day.

To 1979
Roy Harrison
Michael Reith
Jim Harrison
Ivan Anderson
Deryck Harrison
Garfield Harrison
Rev. RJ Barnes
Ian Harrison
Eddie Bushe
Bertie McGill
Derek Healy

Lloyd Armstrong, Willie Irwin, Gordon Irwin.

The first squad contains no fewer than five Harrisons, with Roy opening the batting alongside fellow international Michael Reith.

Jim Harrison is at three, with Ivan Anderson - arguably Watringstown's greatest ever player - at four. Deryck and Garfield - another who could lay claim to being the GOAT at The Lawn - are at five and six.

The Reverend RJ Barnes could offer spiritual guidance if things got tough, while the side is completed by Ian Harrison, Eddie Bushe, Bertie McGill and Derek Healey.

No fewer than eight Irish internationals in their ranks and a truly formidable side that have all bases covered.

1980-2005
David Dennison
Shane Harrison
Robert Dennison
Ivan Anderson
Garfield Harrison
Alvin Spence
Pulashti Gunaratne
Jonathan Bushe
Noel Nelson
Paul McCrum
Alan Nelson

Neil Carson, Ijaz Ahmed, Simon Harrison, Andrew Cousins, Simon Stokes.

There are nine Irish internationals and an overseas professional in the 1980-2005 team, with Ivan and Garfield once again making the XI - a testament to their quality and longevity.

Garfield scored 11 568 runs (2nd in all-time list) and took 869 wickets (first), while Ivan made 10 553 runs (3rd) and captured 746 scalps (2nd).

David and Robbie Dennison are in the top order along with Shane Harrison, while the destructive all-rounder Alvin Spence comes in at six.

Pulashti Gunaratne gets the overseas berth, while the keeping gloves stay in the Bushe household, Johnny taking over the mantle from his dad.

Noel and Alan Nelson, alongside Paul McCrum ensure quality and pace in a very strong side.

2006-present
Adam Dennison
James Hall
James McCollum
Kyle McCallan
Lee Nelson
Morgan Topping
Shaheen Khan
Greg Thompson
Jonathan Bushe
Gary Kidd
Phil Eaglestone

Tom Mayes, Graham Hume, James Mitchell, Sam Topping, Obus Piennar, Ross Allen.

Alan's final selection included seven internationals in the starting XI, with two on the bench. Adam Dennison opens the batting with James Hall - Waringstown's all-time leading run scorer.

James McCollum and Kyle McCallan - for a time Ireland's most capped player - are joined in the middle order by Lee Nelson and Morgan Topping.

Shaheen Khan pips Obus Piennar for the overseas role, while Greg Thompson - Ireland's youngest international - is a more than useful number eight!

Johnny Bushe gets the gloves once again, while left-arm spinner Gary Kidd - third on the all-time list with 537 wickets - and left-arm paceman Phil Eaglestone complete the line-up.

Like the other two sides, there is no shortage of quality and this team covers all bases and formats.

Which of the three is the strongest - one to be discussed over a pint in the Roy Harrison Pavilion!
