Ireland's big guns flexed their muscles in a comfortable 100 run win over hosts Nepal in their opening warm-up match of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

Skipper Gaby Lewis top-scored with a fluent 77 from just 38 balls (12 fours, 2 sixes), sharing stands of 54 with Sarah Forbes (15) and 56 with Orla Prendergast before retiring - one of four Irish batters to do so.
Lewis and Prendergast pierced the infield with regularity, finding the gentle bowling and fast outfield to their liking. Prendergast thumped eight fours and cleared the ropes three times in a 29-ball 62, befire she too called time.
Leah Paul (21) and Arlene Kelly (11) also got time in the middle as the Girls in Green finished on 200 for 7, with Rubina Chhetry (2-17) the pick of the Nepalese bowlers.
Chasing 201, Nepal were never in the hunt as Orla Prendergast (2-9) broke through early with the new ball, while there were also two wickets apiece for Lara McBride (2-12), Arlene Kelly (2-14), and Aimee Maguire (2-3), while Cara Murray (1-13) and Leah Paul (1-15) were also successful.
The only downside of the win was the fact that the Irish were once again sloppy in the field, dropping three catches which on another day could have been crucial.
While Amy Hunter didn't bat, she did keep for a spell, sharing the duties with Christina Coulter-Reilly, hopefully just a precautionary measure following her recent injury 'niggles'.
After the match, there was a bonus as the sides played a super over.
Arlene Kelly bowled for Ireland and restricted Nepal to 8.
Orla Prendergast glanced first ball of the reply for 4 off her legs but was bowled next ball trying to work one to leg.
Rebecca Stokell came in and her and Gaby Lewis exchanged singles to leave three needed from two balls.
There was a chance for Nepal to gain a consolation mini-win, when Rebecca chipped within the reach of backward square but it was dropped. Thankful of the reprieve, Stokell then pierced the field for a winning boundary to seal it.
Ireland play their second and final warm-up game against Zimbabwe on Friday, before they face Papua New Guinea in the tournament opener on Sunday.
