Cliftonville Academy have confirmed the signing of South African batsman CJ Klijnhans as their overseas professional for the 2026 season.

The 25-year-old left-hander comes with the reputation as an explosive talent, and has a first-class century to his name in his fledgling career with Limpopo.

He has the added attributes of being able to bowl leg-spin and can also keep wicket - a real all-rounder.

CJ has previous UK experience, scoring almost 800 runs at an average of 35 in the Manchester League which will put him in good stead to hit the ground running at the Castle Grounds.
