BRIGADE were crowned North-West Premiership champions after a four-wicket win over Ardmore at Beechgrove. The pressure was off Andy Britton’s side following the abandonment of challengers Donemana’s match at already relegated Eglinton, and they continued their winning streak with an efficient win. In a match reduced to 30 overs because of heavy rain, Ardmore posted 154 for nine thanks primarily to the efforts of skipper Harry Zimmermann, who hit seven fours and three sixes in a top score of 90 from 82 balls. Brigade were always in control of the chase, with Scott Macbeth hitting five fours and two maximums in a rapid 55, while there were 20’s too for Cameron Melly, James Smallwoods and Adam McDaid.

Eglinton v Donemana - no result.
Eglinton, 7 September.


No play was possible in the game at Eglinton which means that Donemana can't catch Brigade in the title race. Eglinton of course were already relegated after their one-wicket loss at Ardmore.

The game at Sandel Lodge was abandoned in the 17th over with Bready on 54 for 2 - Ryan Clarke and David Rankin dismissed by Gareth Burns and Stephen Hutchinson respectively.

Newbuildings lost to Strabane by 3 wickets
Foyleview Arena, 7 September.


Ardmore’s loss means they now face a promotion/relegation play-off against St Johnston for the remaining Premiership place in 2026. That’s because Strabane leapfrogged them with a three-wicket victory over Newbuildings in a 20-overs game. Ross Dougherty 36-ball 67 helped Newbuildings make 159 for eight, with runs too for Charlie Downey (35not out) and Jason Dunn (23). Strabane took advantage of a new-look Newbuildings opening attack to have 50 on the board after just two overs – Subhan Shirzad clearing the ropes four times in a nine-ball 30. Aaron Gillespie continued the attack with a fine 52, but three wickets for Adam Allen and two for Jason Dunn swung the momentum back towards the hosts, With 22 needed from the last two overs, Vadivel Moorthy emerged the Strabane hero, hitting four sixes in an unbeaten 33 to ensure Strabane’s Premiership survival.

St Johnston beat Ballyspallen by 8 wickets

Graeme McCarter hit an unbeaten 66 from 60 balls (6 fours, 4 sixes) as St Johnston crushed Ballyspalen to clinch second place in the Championship and a repeat of the 2024 play-off clash with Ardmore. Michael Rankin also hit four sixes in an unbeaten 30 as they made light work of a modest 116 target. Spallen's 115 for9 owed much to Pushpender Singh's 42 as their big guns failed to fire in the crunch clash - four wickets for Scott Devenney and two for the influential Graeme McCarter.

Fox Lodge beat Glendermott by 7 runs
Ballymagorry, 7 September.


Gayan Maneeshan's excellent season continued with the Sri Lankan's all-round efforts enough to ensure title winners Fox Lodge ended their successful Championship season on a winning note. Firstly he hit nine fours and a six in a 56-ball 66, adding 81 in 9 overs with Jason Milligan (35) in a game reduced to 35 overs. Lewis Pearson and Ted Britton each claimed four wickets to wrestle back control, but Jamie McIntyre's unbeaten 38 was to prove crucial as it got the home side up to 170. Glendermott battled bravely, led by skipper Alan Johnson's 37 and 28 from Craig Doherty, but Maneeshan picked up three wickets and Levi Kerr four in a tight seven-run victory.

Burndennett beat Bonds Glen by 2 wickets
Burndennett, 7 September.


Burndennett gained their second win of the season to finish on a high after a closely-fought two-wicket win at home to Bonds Glen in a match reduced to 30 overs. Dharm Singh hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in a 36-ball 47, while Sam Haslett also made 47 (6 fours, 1 six) in a total of 162 for 9 - three wickets for Niall McDonnell and two for Paul Murphy. Sam Kincaid took three wickets in the chase, but the match-winning knock came from Rahmatullah Sahaq who cleared the wall five times in an unbeaten 34-ball 55 to draw the curtain on another Championship campaign.

Strabane lost to Brigade by 117 runs (DLS)
Strabane Park, 6 September.



Brigade romped to an emphatic 117-run DLS win against Strabane in a game reduced to 39 overs per side. The win means they will be champions for the first time since 2019 if they beat Ardmore at Beechgrove on Sunday. Batting first, Brigade found the conditions tough with Ifty Hussain making a patient 46. Scott Macbeth upped the tempo as he cleared the ropes five times and also hit three fours in a 60-ball 71, taking his side to 174 for 9 - three wickets apiece for Andrew Mullen and Rhys Logue. What happened next saw one of the more amazing passages of play this season as Brigade skipper Andy Britton tore through the Strabane top-order, having figures of 6 for 1 at one stage as the hosts crashed to 11 for 7 - all seven batters failing to score. There was a recovery of sorts with Ranjitha making 25 and TJ Boyd 13, but they were eventually bowled out for 49 - three wickets too for Scott Macbeth.

Ardmore beat Eglinton by 1 wicket
The Bleachgreen, 6 September.



Eglinton and Ardmore played out a thriller at the Bleachgreen with the home side winning by one wicket off the penultimate ball. The victory means Ardmore go above Strabane in the table, but confirmed relegation for Eglinton for the first time since 2011. Andy Lucas top-scored with 112 (7 fours, 2 sixes) adding 94 for the fifth wicket with Mark Averill (32). At that stage Eglinton looked set to post 250 plus, but fell away badly losing six wickets for 27 to be all out for 213- three wickets for Edrees. Theb chase started badly as Ardmore slipped to 38 for 3, but Junaid Ali hit 62 (7 fours, 1 six) as he added 77 for the fourth wicket with Aneesh Anilkumar. Mark Averill trapped Junaid lbw for his third wicket, but Aneesh made 53 to keep Ardmore in the game. Lucas then captured three wickets, and with the last Ardmore pair in the middle, 23 were still required. Vivek Dwivedi (30*) and Conor Brolly held their nerve to get the runs, a result that could well ensure another top flight season for Ardmore.

Bready beat Newbuildings by 2 wickets
Magheramason, 6 September.


There was another last-over game at Bready where the home side prevailed in another thriller. Jason Dunn bulldozed his way to a brilliant hundred, hitting 10 fours and 6 sixes in 106 from 83 balls - dominating a new-look Newbuildings total of 210. They had been rocked by Travis Faulkner's early inroads, as he dismissed Peat Salmon and Ross Dougherty with his second and third balls. There was two wickets for Gavin Roulston, while Jordan McCorkell wiped out the lower order in taking four for 36. Charlie Downey struck two early blows, but Ryan Clarke top-scored with 76 (3 fours, 3 sixes), putting on 85 for the third wicket with Gavin Roulston (43). Adam Allen and Jason Dunn picked up two each as the contest ebbed and flowed, coming down to the last two overs with 13 needed and eight wickets down. Cameron McClay (16*) was the Bready hero, as the teenager got the win with two balls left.

Killyclooney lost to Bonds Glen by 5 wickets.

Killyclooney ended their season with a five-wicket loss to Bonds Glen. Timmy Dougherty top-scored with 40 (6 fours) in a modest total of 132 - four wickets for Dharm Singh, and two apiece for Sam Haslett and Mark Robinson. Haslett (32) and John Long (30) were in the runs as the Bee Gees got there in the 38th over despite two wickets for Dougherty.

Glendermott beat Burndennett by 5 wickets.

Craig Doherty scored an unbeaten 54 (6 fours, 2 sixes) sharing an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 51 with skipper Alan Johnson (30*) as Glendermott recovered from 94 for 5 to beat Burndennett by 5 wickets at The Rectory. Jason Lynch chipped in with 22, while there were two wickets for Sulieman Safi and Rian McGettigan. Earlier Andy Barr's 24 was the best of the visitors 144 - seven batters reaching double figures but none really able to kick on. There were three wickets apiece for Ted Britton and Alan Johnson, while JayJay O'Brien took 2 for 3.

Ballyspallen lost to Fox Lodge by 49 runs
Ballyspallen, 6 September.



Champions Fox Lodge recovered from a poor start to beat challengers Ballyspallen by 49 runs. The Foxies had slipped to 63 for 5, but Aaron Heywood (48*) added 50 with Jason Milligan (31), then a further 71 for the 7th wicket with skipper Johnny Robinson (48) in a total of 220 - three wickets for Dylan McvElhinney and two apiece for Graham and Stuart Kennedy. The 'Spallen chase also spluttered early on as they were reduced to 21 for 3 - one of those wickets the free-scoring Isaac Bird. Graham Kennedy hit 10 fours and a six in an even time 63, sharing a fourth wicket stand of 105 with Kyle Morrow (36). Gayan Maneeshan then took three wickets to stall the chase and the hists fell 49 short despite an unbeaten 32 from Stuart Kennedy. Ballyspallen will now have to beat St Johnston on Sunday if they are to leapfrog the Donegal side into the promotion play-off slot.
Final: Final: Glendermott beat Ballyspallen by 172 runs

Glendermott duly won the Sammy Jeffrey Shield with a 172-run win over Ballyspallen on another run-filled day at The Rectory - 1170 in total scored over the two days. Resuming with a lead of 238, Glendermott opted to bat again and made 225 - Geeth Kumara making 70 and Ben Mills hitting 6 sixes in a rapid 43. That left Ballyspallen needing 464 and to be fair to Graham Kennedy and Eddie Moore, they didn't die wondering. The pair added 132 in 10 overs for the third wicket, but the fun ended for Moore after a 35-ball 78 (11 fours, 5 sixes). Kennedy went on to make 107 from 58 balls (5 fours, 12 sixes) as 'Spallen made 291. Ben Mills took six wickets to make it ten for the match, but he was pipped to the Man-of-the-Match accolade by Sri Lankan Geeth Kumara on two days to remember for all the Glendermott faithful.
Semi-final: Killyclooney lost to Ballyspallen by 4 wickets

Ballyspallen recovered from 84 for 5 to chase down Killyclooney's 257, winning by four wickets. Jurie Snyman - in as a replacement professional for Kagiso Rapulana - justified the short-term inclusion with a top-score of 112 from 103 balls (11 fours, 6 sixes). He shared a sixth wicket stand of 116 with Stuart Kennedy, who finished the job after Snyman's departure, hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes in his unbeaten 72, adding an unbroken 58 for the seventh wicket with Jay O'Brien. Earlier, there was another South African professional century, as Arun Visser's 101-ball 140 (16 fours, 4 sixes) led the hosts to 257, sharing stands of 88 with skipper Kenzie Hall (28) and teenager Alfie Moan (34). The Kennedy clan did the bulk of the damage with the ball, taking 8 of the 10 wickets to fall.
Semi-final: Glendermott beat St Johnston by 192 runs

Trevor Britton took nine wickets as Glendermott bowled out St Johnston for 75 to win by 192 runs at The Rectory. A solid batting effort has seen Geeth Kumara top score with 66 in a total of 267 for 8. The win will have them in good spirits as they begin their long journey to Kerry for the National Cup quarter-final.
Round 1: Killyclooney beat Sion Mills by 8 wickets

Killyclooney made short work of Sion Mills as they bowled their fellow Tyrone side out for 78. Glenn McCallan top-scoring with 19. Skippers past and present Timmy Dougherty (4-20) and Kenzie Hall (3-26) did the bulk of the damage, while youngster Alfie Moan claimed two scalps. McCallan picked up two consolation wickets, but the home side won before the end of the powerplay, with Aron Visser making a 25-ball unbeaten 43 (6 fours, 2 sixes), while Dougherty also cleared the ropes twice in a brief cameo.
Round 1: St Johnston beat Fox Lodge by 5 wickets

Nathan Cole was the St Johnston hero in an entertaining five-wicket win over Fox Lodge at the Boathole in a game reduced to 36 overs. Gayan Maneeshan's 57 was the best of the Ballymagorry's side 153 for 9, sharing a third wicket stand of 104 with Jason Milligan (30) - two wickets apiece for Ryan McAuley, Michael Rankin and Nathan Cole. Aaron Heywood then took 2 for 5 in a 7 overs spell to reduce the home side to 54 for 4 approaching the halfway point of the chase. Cole and David Lapsley (34) then got the Saints back on track with a 5th wicket stand of 69, with Cole hitting four fours and two sixes in a match-winning unbeaten 57.
Round 1: Glendermott beat Burndennett by 7 wickets

Glendermott's Geeth Kumara showed his class as the Rectory side chased 152 to beat Burndennett. Corey Roulston (34) and Derek Curry (20) helped the visitors rally from 90 for 8 to 151 - two wickets each for Kumara, Boyd and skipper Alan Johnson. Ben Mills went cheaply but a third wicket stand of 95 between Jason Lynch (35) and Kumara settled the contest - Kumara's unbeaten 77 from 74 balls included 7 fours and 4 sixes.
Round 1: Bonds Glen lost to Ballyspallen by 8 wickets
Bonds Glen, 31 May.


Ballyspallen had little trouble reaching the last four with an emphatic 8-wicket win at Bonds Glen. Isaac Bird was one again front and centre as he took four wickets to bundle out the Bee Gees for 116 - 20's for Johnny and Sam Haslett. There were two wickets apiece for Stuart Kennedy and Kasigo Rapulana, and it was the South African who enjoyed himself with the bat in the chase. He hit 12 fours and one maximum in a 57-ball unbeaten 65, sharing an unbroken third wicket stand of 94 with skipper Stephen Kennedy (18*) after Kyle Moore (2-27) had struck two early blows.
