December isn't usually associated with cricket in Europe, but the sunnier climes of Southern Spain have this past weekend allowed Spain to host Croatia for a five match T20I series in La Manga. These are the first ever official internationals to take place in Europe in December. A women's T10 tournament was played in Spain just before Christmas last year, but the ICC doesn't currently class T10 matches as official internationals.

The highlight of the series came in today's fourth match of the series, with Mohammad Ihsan clubbing 160 from just 63 balls in Spain's total of 290-3. It was the highest individual score by an associate player - and third highest overall - in men's T20Is, with the previous best coming 12 months ago by Sacha de Alwis for the Cayman Islands against Brazil. There are two higher scores by associate players in women's T20Is.

Ihsan shared in a 147 run partnership for the third wicket with Hamza Dar, who scored his runs at a higher strike rate, smashing 91 from just 29 balls. For Croatia, only captain Sam Houghton reached double figures with 31 as they made 75-8, losing by 215 runs.

It was Ihsan's second century of the series after a second match unbeaten knock of 112 as Spain beat the visitors by 182 runs. In the other three games, Croatia batted first and were restricted to low scores, the hosts knocking off the runs in quick time.
