Aimee Maguire has been named in the Ireland squad for their six-match white-ball tour of South Africa in December.

It marks a return to international action for the19-year old spinner for the first time since receiving ICC clearance for her remodelled bowling action following her ban.

The Hills spinner has taken 25 wickets in 20 matches with a best of 5-19 against England, and she is joined in the squad by her sister Jane and fellow Milverton team mate Lara McBride.

Georgina Dempsey returns after a lengthy injury lay-off, having last appeared for Ireland in January which saw her miss almost the entirety of the domestic campaign.

She and Sarah Forbes will feature in the ODI's only, replacing Alana Dalzell and Louise Little from the T20 sqwuad.

It's a youthful Ireland squad that has an average age of just over 24, but that's not to say it hasn't experience with four players - Lewis, Delany, Prendergast and Paul - all with in excess of 100 appearances - while Amy Hunter and Cara Murray are both expected to pass the century milestone during the tour.,

This will be the first time the two sides have met since 2022 when South Africa toured Ireland, with Ireland winning just three times in 33 meetings against the World Cup finalists.

The T20I's take place on December 5th, 7th and 10th, with the ODI's on December 13th, 16th and 19th.
