What a season it was for Balbriggan who captured the Irish Senior Cup for the first time in their history, using the underdogs tag to good effect along the way.

That was evident in their win over Clontarf in the final as they overcame a poor start to clinch the Bob Kerr trophy on a day that will live long in the memory as Jordan Hollard produced one of the all-time great knocks in the competition.

In Leinster competitions they didn't make the cut for the Premiership, finishing second in the Championship. They won't be too concerned by that given their capture of the Holy Grail.

Chris De Freitas topped their batting charts with the left-hander probably the next cab off the rank for an Irish cap. He scored 642 at 42.80, ahead of Cameron Rowe 585 at 29.25 and Connor Fletcher 434 at 19.73.

Helped by that cup final hundred Jordan Hollard made 428 at 32.92, while Dylan Lues and Greg Ford both passed 300 runs.

Matthew Hollard was the stand-out bowler as he collected 48 wickets at 17.17 - including two five-wicket hauls - with best figures of 6-6 as The Hills were blown away.

Younger brother Jordan was next as he took 30 wickets at 22.07, one more than Dylan Lues and Sebastian De Oliveria. Andy Darroch was the fifth member of the bowling unit taking a very credible 23 wickets at 20.83.

It won't be easy for Balbriggan to replicate their 2025 achievement, but I'm sure they will give it a good go in 2026.
