SCOTLAND SQUAD CONFIRMED FOR INAUGURAL EMERGING NATIONS TROPHY

The Scotland Women’s squad has been named for the forthcoming ICC Emerging Nations Trophy, taking place in Thailand in November.

Sarah Bryce captains the 14-strong squad, with Kathryn Bryce unavailable due to her commitments with Hobart Hurricanes in the Women’s Big Bash. There is a first senior call-up for Mollie Parker, who featured at the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup earlier this year, while Niamh Robertson-Jack returns to the squad after recovering from long-term injury.

The Emerging Nations Trophy is being played for the first time and features the top eight Women's Associate Members – five with ODI status (Scotland, Thailand, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea and UAE) and the next best three teams in the T20i rankings (Namibia, Tanzania and Uganda).

The new tournament will serve as important preparation for Scotland ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier, which is scheduled to take place in Nepal in January 2026.

Scotland’s most recent senior international fixture was against Ireland at the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Pakistan in April.

Head Coach Craig Wallace said: “It’s firstly a really good feeling to be preparing to play international cricket again. It feels like a lifetime since we were in Pakistan at the Qualifier, so it’ll be great to get the players back together in the next few weeks and to work with them as we build up to this tournament.

“Mollie Parker comes into the squad for the first time after some brilliant performances across the summer for Scotland A. She’s shown with bat and ball that she’s ready for this level of cricket and given she’s still very young, she’s been very impressive.

“It’s also exciting to welcome Niamh Robertson-Jack after a long absence. She’s had a really tough eighteen months with a knee injury so this is a great moment for her, and we’re keen to see what she can do on this tour.

“This tour is going to be really challenging, but it’s a great opportunity to test our skills against the best Associate teams. It’s a big winter for us – this tournament is absolutely vital preparation as we build towards the T20 World Cup Qualifier in January, so out in Thailand we’ll be looking to lay down the model of how we want to play at the Qualifier and how we look after ourselves on tour, and then go and create some memories.”
