Waringstown have signed South African Dayyaan Galiem as their overseas professional for the 2026 season.
The 28-year-old is an experienced all-rounder, who has represented South Africa at international level, as well as playing domestically for Western Province, Cape Cobras, Titans and Paarl Royals amonst others.
He replaces fellow countryman Daniel van der Merwe at The Lawn, who had a modest season scoring 429 runs and taking 22 wickets - both at an average of 30.
Van Der Merwe did play an important role as Waringstown lifted the Challenge Cup, but they were very much second best in the Premiership.
"Over recent seasons, Dayyaan has been a consistent performer in South African domestic cricket, contributing valuable runs in the middle order while leading attacks with the new ball," said Waringstown CC in a statement.
"His experience, professionalism, and match-winning ability will be a huge asset to our club as we look ahead to the 2026 campaign.
"We warmly welcome Dayyaan to The Lawn and look forward to seeing him in Waringstown colours next summer."
