The curtain comes down on the North-West season on Saturday with St Johnston and Ardmore battling it out for the right to play in the Premiership next year.

It's a repeat of the 2024 play-off  match, won by Ardmore after they were in real trouble in the first rained-off match.

The Bleachgreen side are without overseas professional Junaid Ali - the leading run scorer in the Premieship - who returned home last week.

They are bolstered though by the availability of Dave Bezzant, bolstering their fragile batting. They also hope to have Bobby Brolly back from school in England for the must-win encounter.

St Johnston are at full strength for the game, and skipper David Anthony - who previously played for Ardmore - hoping the Donegal side can go one better than last year.

"The boys are looking forward to Saturday," Anthony told CricketEurope.

"Its been a very up and down year with a few boys missing through work commitments and injuries but we have managed to grind out enough results to get us into the play-off spot with a particularly good close out of the season.

"We are delighted to have Jack MacBeth and Graeme McCarter back and available for the weekends game.

"We've been on the cusp of going up a few years in a row now and hoping we can seal the deal come Saturday."

Burndennett has been chosen as the venue with play getting underway on Saturday at 12 o'clock. If the game isn't completed on Saturday, the teams will try again on Sunday. If no result then, Ardmore will remain in the Premiership.
