It was by their high standards somewhat of a disappointing season for Merrion who never threatened to lift silverware at any stage.

A look at their statistics shows plenty of batting power and depth, but the bowling unit doesn't carry anywhere near the same potency.

Stephen Doheny showed his pedigree in hitting three centuries on his way to 720 runs at 55.38, while the evergreen John Anderson made 703 at 46.86 (1 hundred, 5 fifties).

Swapnil Modgill and Connor Blaxall-Hill both passed the 500-runs mark, while Jamie Forbes, Sean Stanton and Max Sorensen all got more than 300 runs.

Tom Stanton was the only bowler to pass 20 wickets, claiming 23 at 35.52, while Melvin Deveraj (19 at 31.31) came close.

Max Sorensen (17 at 30.70) was the only one with a five-wicket haul (in the Irish Cup loss to Donemana), while Connor Blaxall-Hill managed 14 at exactly 33.

There was Irish Cup success for the the Women and their youth sides, and given the numbers coming through their system, it seems only a matter of time before they will be back right at the top of the pile.
