Instonians all-rounder Shane Dadswell is retiring from cricket in South Africa pledging his future to Ireland.

The 27-year-old is believed to be taking a full-time role at Instonians as a Director of Cricket, and will be training over the winter with the Northern Knights.
Dadswell will have to wait until April 2028 before becoming eligible to play for Ireland.
He played a pivotal role in helping the Shaw's Bridge side complete the treble this year, including the All-Ireland T20 Cup.
Former Ireland Head Coach Graham Ford was a big admirer of Dadswell's talent, while current Head Coach Heinrich Malan has awarded four of the last five new caps to South African born players.
He has extensive playing experience in his native South Africa, with 20 first-class, 32 List A and 21 T20 appearances over eight years with North West, Border, Easterns, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga, while also playing for Pretoria Capitals in the SA T20.
“I am not stopping playing cricket, but I am pursuing an opportunity in Ireland," Dadswell told the Club Cricket SA website.
"This is as much a cricket decision as it is a life decision," added Dadswell who got married last year.
“My number one goal is to play international cricket for Ireland. I love the game of cricket and I believe I still have plenty to offer."
